what was your most recent random act of kindness?
this is not a "look at me, i'm such a good human being" thread. random acts of kindness should mostly go unsaid... but i thought it would be a nice reminder that there is still good in the world and spark ideas of the little things we can do for each other.
i want to read feel-good stuff
here's mine.
last week was a run disney weekend in disneyland. i paid for a finisher's massage. there was a tent to raise money for a charity (can't remember which), they were giving 5 or 10 minute massages $5 or $10... cash.
this particular runner didn't have cash and was told that the closest atm was on the other side of downtown disney. so i paid for her massage. she promised to pay it forward.

what was your most recent random act of kindness?
I went to visit my mother in the hospital last month. The lady in the bed next to her was very elderly and very, very ill. My mom introduced me briefly. She was sweet and said that I was lucky to be young and beautiful. I thanked her and told her that I hoped she felt better soon. I couldn't get her out of my head when I left. I asked my mother if she had family and my mother said that no she didn't have any. I went online and sent her flowers, balloons and a bear. My mom was released so I don't know what happened to her but she was so ill that I don't think she made it out of there. I hope she felt special even if it was just for a minute.

I treated a friend to dinner unexpectedly (to her) just because she has been by my side and so supportive as I am going through a tough time, Not sure if that counts

Re: what was your most recent random act of kindness?
I don't know if it's necessarily an act of kindness, but I often find myself at work, giving resources to people, when it's not my job or I don't have to and they can let their caseworker do the detective work.
If it helps someone I don't mind though...
Especially if it's a shared client.
I am probably not wording this correctly, but I often find other people who work in my field who like to keep resources top secret....like they are hoarding them or it makes them look better if THEY share the resource.
Ultimately it affects many people though by keeping helpful info to ourselves.....

Re: what was your most recent random act of kindness?
2 small things...
I was in the city and saw a man taking a pic with a huge SLR of his 3 friends in a cafe, I offered to take a pic of the 4 of them together.
Later that day I was taking LIRR out of Penn, I got there early so I found a seat easily but the train became packed pretty quickly. An older couple got on and could not find seats together so they sat across the aisle from each other. I gave up my window seat (I am normally NOT a nice person haha) and offered to switch spots with the wife so they could sit together.

That definitely counts! I'm sure she really appreciated it.

thank you! we work together and she is a single/divorced mom of 3 and it hasn't been easy and she is going through something with her oldest daughter right now but still finds time to comfort and support me, as I will do for her.

Although not a true "random" act of kindness, it was even better...a very deliberate act by a stranger who turned out to be my angel...
A miracle!
Oh, and PS this didn't happen on Fire Island and I wasn't on vacation

Wow this was you?? That's so awesome. I remember seeing his post on a buy sell group I'm a member of. He only talked about the wedding band in the post but when he met with you gave you both rings.
