What would you do

I am debating about throwing DD a 1st birthday party. Mostly because I don't know where to have it.

She is a holiday baby so I would have to do it a few weeks before or after the holidays so that people would actually be able to attend.

Then there is the where part. If I do it at a venue it will get $$ because we would have to extend the invite list to more people etc.
If we do it a kids party place, I can get away with inviting just people with kids.

Anyway, right before I found out I was pregnant with DD last year, we had a trip booked for WDW the first week of December. I had to cancel since I was going to be 37 weeks at that time.

DS has been asking to go to Mickey Mouse's house a lot the last couple of months. I was thinking about booking a trip for this coming December again. We didn't do anything this summer with the kids. We are in the process of moving, I am in the process of possibly switching jobs, DH has been dealing with his sick father and the summer has just flown by. We could all use some time away with the craziness that this year has brought us

I figured DD is still young enough that she will stay in the stroller (if she isn't walking by then) and it will be easier than waiting until the following year when she is 2. Also, DS is in Pre-K, so I don't mind him missing school at this age as much as when he gets older.

What would you do? Would you do WDW with a 4yr old and an almost 1 yr old?
or wait until the youngest is older

ETA: instead of throwing DD a 1st Birthday party - take the money and do a family trip. Celebrate down there with her. Since kids don't remember their 1st birthdays.

I would absolutely 100% go to WDW with a 4 and 1 yr old. No question!

We're going this fall and my DD will be 6 and my DS will only be 1.5yrs old but I know he will LOVE it! I don't think you're ever too young for Disney! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I would do WDW .I spent a lot of money on DS's first bday and honesty for what? he doesnt remember and the place was cheesy and sticky Chat Icon put that $$ towards Disney, DS is a great age and even though DD wont remember at 1 she will still light up when she sees the characters.

Hands down go to Disney!! If I were to do it all over again I'd do something like that instead of a party.

I would do the Disney trip and then just have immediate family over for cake and coffee.

This is what I was thinking. DD is a Christmas Eve baby, so I figured we would just sing to her that night after dinner with everyone.

I think I am going to book it!!! I have to speak to DH and get his input but I think I want to spend our $$ on this than a party.
