Potty training??

We are using the three day potty training method.
With DD 1 we were good to go by the second half of day 2 and I was out at stores on day 4
With DD 2 - it is a little trickier due to me being by myself and a lot more distractions this time around with her sister.
We are on the second half of day 3 and she just peed on the floor Chat Icon after being really good all morning. Has anyone not had success by day 3 but then had it on say day 4 or 5
Should I stick with it or just go back to diapers - I dont want to confuser her and lose all the progress we have made so far but it just seems different this time - almost like she could care less - lol!
Any advice would be great

DD turned 2 in June

ETA - I should have mentioned I feel like it is still me asking her every ten seconds do you have to go and when I know she hasn't gone in awhile I initiate "lets try sitting on the potty". And I feel if I didn't do that she would probably have had more accidents - she had two this morning (one poop and one pee ) but when placed on the toilet she went 5 times. Where with my first DD by day 3 she was telling me when she had to go.

if she's miserable with potty training, i'd stop ... but if she's doing alright (mentally) with it, i'd stick with it. Some kids need more practice than others and there's nothing wrong with that. Anyway, one accident at 5pm is pretty good, if you ask me!

Good luck!

Potty training??

Sounds like not ready. I did 3 day with my ds when he was 2.5 and he got it by end of day 2. If he was still having lots of accidents and me having to constantly ask then I would have stopped.

Sounds like my DD the first time we tried potty training. After day 3 or 4 she still wasn't telling me she had to go, constant accidents if I wasn't putting her on toilet, didn't seem to care about accidents.

I put her back in diapers to save my sanity, and tried again 2-3 months later. Night and day difference. She was totally trained in 2 days that round.

We are starting tomorrow with DD so I have been studying the method today to make sure I'll know what I'm doing tomorrow! It says not to ask them if they have to go but to remind them to tell you. Also says not to make them "try" bc then they won't learn to recognize the signs and tell you. Kind of giving them more control which they're supposed to like and respond to. Maybe give it another day and see if things click. If not, I'd wait a month or so and try again. Good luck!

i did a tweaked version of the 3 day method with my son, but this was one of the few things i followed to a T & i think it really helped!

to the OP -- i agree with PP who said maybe she isnt ready... shes still on the younger side so you can back off for a while & try it again in a few months!

good luck to all potty training mamas!!

Thank you for all the responses
I followed it to the letter for day 1 and 2 but I got desperate on the second half of day 3.
I decided to back off and try again in a few months- she was crying and saying I can't do it and I feel like she's with holding poop Chat Icon
Not worth it at all !!
Good luck everyone !
