FTWM Needs quick meal suggestions
Need ideas/suggestions/recommendations: Quick, easy meals. I have 2 days/week that I will have ~20 minutes for dinner. I do NOT want to rely on fast food.
Any suggestions? I've considered crock pot meals, but (1) I feel like it's too much food and (2) I need kid friendly things - the recipes I want to try/use aren't things at least 1 kid would eat.
I'm considering having a stash of sandwiches prepared (to take on the go). Can't have anything TOO heavy - these 2 nights we're off to football practice.
DS is 7 and DD will be 2 next month

Re: FTWM Needs quick meal suggestions
i pretty much only cook quick things, and some of my go to meals lately are:
-natures promise chicken sausages. they make a variety of flavors, like spinach feta and chicken apple. bake with some peppers and onions (or not) and serve on rolls or alone. usually make quick rice or beans on the side
-cut up sandwich steak, onions and mushrooms and sautee all together. serve on rolls with cheese.
-for the crock pot, i throw in a bunch of chicken breasts and a bottle of bbq sauce or franks hot sauce. shred it with two forks after a few hours and done.
-roast chicken. little salt, pepper , onion powder and olive oil. sometimes i cut up potatoes on the side and cook all together.
-purdue chicken patties. theyre soooooo juicy and delicious. i eat these all the time.

Frozen tortellini/ravioli - Trader Joes makes a ton of different flavors and all very yummy! Boil water and cook for 5 mins!
TJ's also has frozen turkey burgers that are so quick to cook--and they're yummy but very plain, so if your kids like blander food they can eat as-is, but can easily jazz up with condiments or toppings.
Quesadillas--plain cheese or you can add black beans, meat, veggies, etc. Great for using leftovers! Dip in salsa, guacamole, sour cream.
Boneless chicken thighs and salsa in the crockpot for 4 hours. Shred and use for tacos, burritos, over salad, mixed with rice, etc.
Ground turkey meat--brown in a pan and add taco seasoning. Have shredded cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, guac, sour cream. Make your own tacos!
Applegate farms hot dogs are quick and easy. Serve with sweet potato fries.
BLT sandwiches are a quick dinner staple in my house!

What about the fresh spinach ravioli that they sell in the deli section. You don't even need sauce just a little butter and Parmesan...

We make our own pizzas with the pillsbury crust Pierogies and veggies Raviolis Pasta with chopped frozen broccoli, some oil, garlic, frozen meatballs Cheese/crackers/fruit and hummus night
Sometimes I will make a huge hero sandwich on a loaf of Italian bread that just needs to be heated up in oven. Either chicken cordon blue, buffalo chicken and cheddar or grilled chic with peppers and mozz. I will make fries and frozen steam in bag veggies on side.

i make chicken breast and salsa in the crockpot. so easy and so delish. you can eat it over rice/quinoa or in tortillas.
i also make things in muffin tins. i will make spinach feta and turkey meatballs or broccoli cheese and quinoa in muffin tins. and then just pop them in the microwave when its time to eat.
my 15 month old loves these
