I've never been but a few friends of mine are planning a weekend with their kids and invited us.
None of them have ever been either so they can't really answer this question..
but they're going a few days after her 1st bday .. is 1 too young for dutch wonderland?
their children range from 3-5.

IMO, yes 1 is too young. There are only a handful of rides she can go on at that age. We went in June when my DD was 16 mos, and I think she went on 2 rides with my son and 1 ride with me. She was walking by then, so she was allowed to go without me. I wouldn't have fit on those rides anyway!
If you go to the water area at the park, she can splash around the sprinklers (if she's walking). But I'd watch out for the older kids running into her. (Well, no matter how old she is, there is always going to be an older kid not watching where they are going!)
Kids under 2 are free, so if you went you would only have to pay for yourself.

Yeah I would say one is too young as well. We took my daughter at two and three and I even felt she may have been too young at two. That being said we were just there and had our eight month old and took her on a few rides. Like the previous poster said, at that age they are free. We stayed at the eden resort and my eight month old loved their little splash pool. You could still go if you want to and you think it would be fun for you.

1 may be too young for the rides.
Even at 2, my DD could go on a few more rides size wise, but she was petrified and really didn't "get it"
By 3 it was like a whole other world.

We took my boys last year when they were 3 and 1. The 1 year old pretty much was just along for the ride. I wouldn't have went if I didn't have my 3 year old as well.

We stay at Eden too, and that place is the bees knees for kids. Both of my kids LOVE the sprinkler area.

My friends are actually staying at Eden.. I was thinking of maybe going and just hanging with her in the splash area for the day and letting her enjoy the splash area at Eden.. she was an early walker so at this point she's running laps around us.
But it did look like there is only about 5-6 rides I can bring her on with me- if she even likes them.
I honestly think my husband is just so excited to take her that I'd break his heart if I said she's too young.

I think it depends a lot on the child. We went in June and DS will be 3 in September. He was physically able to go on a lot of the rides alone, but completely freaked. On several rides, they actually had to stop the ride so he could get off. Did not matter if we were on the ride with him or not.
He was just content to look around and take in the sites.

If you will be staying at Eden too, then go for fun of it. If your DD is ok going on the rides at Adventureland, then she should be ok with the rides at Dutch. They are similar as far as "thrills" go. We brought my DD in June when she was 16 months, and I pushed her in the stroller while my DH took my DS on bigger rides. At least you'll have other moms to chat with.

Yes. We just went last week.
My 4 yr old could've gone on everything. My 2 yr old could get on alot.
My almost 1 yr old went on 2 rides (both were boat rides). She could've also gone on the train, but it was out of order.
ETA: If your DH is excited and you think she will like the spray areas- then I would go! You have nothing to lose (other than admission for you and DH and a long car ride).
Just FYI- the splash area at DW isn't heated. My youngest wasn't a fan of being splashed in the face with cold water
