Bench seat and car seats

For anyone that has bench seating in the second row (of a three row car) can two full car seats sit NEXT to eachother in the second row? I wouldn't want them on either side (behind driver & passenger) because third row would not be accessible.

They can if they are both independently secured and not using each other for support to be stable.

Yes, they will but I'm wondering if physically they can fit next to each other. I know the middle spot is smaller than the two ends.

I know people who have two seats next to each other in that situation. It depends on the car seat.

I think it depends upon the seats and the car...My husband has a Nissan Titan, which is the same sizing as the Nissan Armada...he can easily fit two seats in the middle and side (60 part of the 60/40 split) and have the other side up. I'm sure that not every seat and car will be able to do this though, for example, we haven't been able to do this with the seats we own in my mom's Pathfinder.

I did this in my suburban when I had the second row bench. The passenger side rear seat had to be free in order to flip it up to access the third row.
