carnival theme party....
anyone do this in your house? It sounds like fun, but I can see it being pricey. What did you do? Did you get outside entertainment?

carnival theme party....
You could rent pop corn machine & hotdog maker thing (or bbq yourself). Depends on budget...clowns tent snowcone machine decorations ect will get pricey.

Re: carnival theme party....
We haven't, but it's a great idea! You would have to get food and decorations anyways, so maybe do carnival themed food: corn dogs, soft pretzels, I love the idea of a popcorn cart!
Maybe a face painter?
And you can probably do a bunch of diy carnival games - knock down stack of cups, basketball hoop, water gun targets, etc.

Re: carnival theme party....
I am in the midst of planning a disney carnival for my daughter's second birthday. We will have a face painter and pony rides. We are also doing about 5 carnival games which we are making ourselves - bean bag toss, ring toss, fishing game, and one more that is up in the air. We also got a big wooden board that we are painting and cutting out a hole so that it will be like a photo prop where the kids stick their face in. I ordered a bunch of "prizes" that the kids can choose from in addition to the regular favors. I got a few cute carnival decorations from oriental trading and some other places. My older daughter really wants a popcorn machine, but I am not sure since we will have a lot of little ones and not sure about them choking. It was getting to expensive so we are not doing these - but they have cotton candy, snow cone, hotdog machine rentals also which would be cute. and we did a really cute carnival ticket invitation from etsy.

carnival theme party....
We went to a carnival theme just a few weeks ago and last year my kids had a circus theme party. You will see that many of the same things will pop up for decor and ideas. Well at least thats wht i found. We had a guy do magic, a balloon guy and my cousin did face painting.
Eta: For food we had pizza, hot dogs, sandwiches, french fries, mozzarella sticks, nachos and cheese, soft pretzels, ice cream, peanuts, cotton candy and funnel cake. Which is almost exactly that the carnival party had a few weeks ago.

carnival theme party....
Did this last year for ds 1st birthday. I had a clown, popcorn machine, candy machines, cotton candy maker, games, hot dogs, face painting, magic tricks and we decorated like a giant circus tent. It was a lot of fun.

Re: carnival theme party....
I think I a going this route for DDs first in October. I want to get a big bounce house, popcorn machine, and my teenage cousin will be the face painter. I live the idea of carnival games too!

Re: carnival theme party....
We had one in April for my daughters 3 rd bday. It was SOOO much fun. We had pony rides/petting zoo. I rented 2 carnival game tents (with 2 carnival games in each tent) with small prizes the kids could win. I also had a snow cone machine, pop corn machine, hot dog machine, cotton candy, and a made to order menu at the "concession stand" the menu included burgers, hot dogs, chicken fingers, French fries, onion rings, corn dogs, deep fried Oreos. Then we had a dessert table with cake, cupcakes, and a few candy displays. I ordered all the decorations off Etsy and bought some from Party City.

Re: carnival theme party....
We were going to do this. We were going to rent a tent and have seating on one side and booths on the other side with prizes. Nothing too fancy. Get some mason jars and some ping pong and tennis balls and skies the limit to what you can do with them for games. Dollar store prizes. Then depending on your budget, food and/or renting a ride.
