1st birthday party activities for kids?
Can you recommend some party activities for children ages 2-8? We are doing a backyard bbq for our DD's 1st birthday. I actually have friends asking me what we are doing to keep the kids entertained (like are we hiring entertainment). Its a huge backyard... they can run around and dance to the music too! I was thinking pin the tail on the donkey, bubbles, a ring toss, limbo??? any other ideas... TIA

1st birthday party activities for kids?
We hired Professional Kids Entertainment - they were very affordable and the kids loved it. If you have it in the budget I would recommend them. They do face painting, games, cotton candy, a magic show (that the adults liked too!) and more.

People asked me the same thing - very presumptous if you ask me!! What ever happened to kids playing outside with balls, bats, toys etc? I did not hire anyone, and the kids ran around all day and had a great time.

I would just have normal backyard games and beyond that the parents can entertain their kids.

When we did kids first birthday, I hired clown for 1 hour & they played for rest of time. We didnt do any games.........they were too young.

Exactly this for my sons first Bday last year and we will do the same for his 2nd bday party in 2 weeks. we had a variety of ages ranging from 1-10 and they all ran around and had a good time. For my twins 1st bday we had entertainment only because it was a winter birthday and we had it at a hall. Had we had it at home i would not have had entertainment.

1st birthday party activities for kids?
I did backyard party in June for my girl. I bought a bunch of stuff from dollar store & Michael's: blow up beach balls, wiffle ball & bats, bubbles, sling shot airplanes, jump ropes, hula hoops, rocket ballons, nerf type footballs, plastic horse shoe game.kids ages 1-12 had a great time.
