How long do you usually wait for sick visits at the pediatrians office?

Just curious because yesterday they made us wait an hour to be seen. About 40 min in the waiting room and then another 20 in the exam room before the dr came in. And dd was miserable the whole time. Is that normal for sick visits? We don't usually wait more than 10 min for well visits. Plus I was annoyed bc on the phone I was told to come in at 10, and then when I got there I was told I was early bc my dds appt wasn't until 10:20. even though I'm positive they said 10 on the phone and I said that to the receptionist and got no apology and she made no attempt to get dd in quicker. Kind of unprofessional, IMO.

The longest I've ever waited for sick or well is 5 mins. Usually they take us within a minute or two.

I would never wait an hour for any appt.

I used to think waits at the Dr was just how it was....until I found some amazing Drs that actually run their office without major delays.

On occasion, we have had a long wait like that, especially during the winter months when they are busy. Typically, I would say we wait 10-15 minutes, including the time in the exam room.

The longest I waited for a well visit was an hour. DS was born at the end of July and I made the rookie mistake of making an afternoon appointment for his first well visit right smack in the middle of physicals for school season. I always make the earliest appointment now.

I barely have time to sit before we get called in for all visits. Never a wait in the waiting room. Maybe 5 minutes once we are in the exam room.

Wow, so I guess the long wait is not normal! This was her second time having a sick visit, and the first time we waited 2 hours! I gave them a pass at the time since it was the Saturday before Easter and I figured they were under staffed. But I was very surprised (and annoyed) to wait an hour on a Tuesday morning, when btw we were the only ones in the waiting room for like 20 min, and then only one other child was waiting. So what was the hold up?!?!?

I think I will end up switching, especially since the snotty receptionist told me I was early as if I did something wrong, when she told me the wrong time to come in.

I had to wait 20mins for sick visits in the waiting room and about 10 in the exam room. Well visits are maybe 5 mins wait
I didn't complain bc I figured they were squeezing me in....if i had a scheduled appt and had to wait 30 mins bc they squeezed in a sick visit for someone else is be annoyed

Last week I waited about a half hour, but excused them because it was PACKED and we called that morning for an appointment, so we were being squeezed in. This doctor is usually so good with being on time. For one of his well visits, we waited an hour to be seen - I was the angriest person in the world by the time we were called in. If that happened again, we would switch.

We haven't been to many bc she is so young but for 2 appts maybe 10 minutes and for one at least a half hour. I guess things do come up.

I've waited 20 in the exam room once, all the other times not more than 5-10 min for well or sick visits

Usually get called within 15 minutes but in the exam room at least another 10-15 minutes which almost makes it worse.

We are usually in and out in about 30 min for well or sick at the ped.

5-10 min to get called into a room
5-10 min for nurse to get vitals or talk to us
5-10 wait for doc

There have been a few times where doc pops in and says he is behind but we have never waited more than 20 min or so.
