At home. We invited family - extended and immediate. We also invited co-workers and our friends. We're laid back and I love entertaining. We do the same every year since. If people come they come, if they don't they don't.
I've asked coworkers if they mind be invited and they say no.

1st birthday party -- who did you invite
For our twins we had their party at a VFW hall because they are winter babies. We invited immediate and extended family as well as friends. For my DS last year we actually had 23 parties. 1 for immediate and extended families and 1 for friends. We wanted to celebrate with everyone but had the party in our yard and could not fit 100 people in our yard without feeling too crowded.

we were originally going to do it at home but DH got hurt about a week before so we had it at a chinese restaurant. We invited immediate family and our friends and had about 30 people attend (i forget the exact number)

Our parents, our siblings and their spouses/children, and our 2 best friends. A total of 24 people. Will be held in our backyard next wkend. Being catered by Famous Dave's BBQ.

We had it at my parents since they have more space. We had immediate family, select extended family (I know some people find this horrifying but it's the norm in our huge extended families), and a few friends. It was about 25 people.

Yes! We live about 25 min from the closest one, but the manager said they deliver the food in a hot truck and it is hot and ready to eat right away. They set up the trays and sterno's, you just have to return them to get your deposit back, which is $10/tray. I was surprised at how affordable it is.

For my older DS we had it at a park, my younger DS's was at a restaurant. Both times we invited all immediate family, extended family that we are close with, and our closest friends. It was about 50 people both times.

For the 1st, We invited immediate and extended family (aunts, uncles, cousins) and a few close friends. We had it at a restaurant because there was no way were going to be able to fit that many people at the house.
His 2nd bday is coming up and this time we are doing immediate family only at the house for a BBQ.

For #1 we did immediate and extended family, plus some close friends. It was at a country club.
#2 we did immediate family plus a few extras, it was at Babylon Carriage House.

We agreed we would only do a big party for our daughters first birthday. We invited immediate and extended family and close friends. We had about 50 people. We had it at domenicos in Levittown. They were great.

We had an 80 person party at a catering hall. We had family and friends. We did limit extended family though b/c it was getting out of hand. This year will be a kiddie party.

We did it at our house... really our living room (it was tight & we stuck tables everywhere & cleared out the furniture).
We had 60 people & it was BLAZING hot outside & had rained an hour before (goodbye outdoor planning!).
That being said, it was fun. I didn't have a party for the second year birthday.
