Givng tylenol to almost four month old

DS has been teething since he was 2.5 mos...oy vey!! But giving him Tylenol has been an adventure....especially now that his dose increased due to weight and age. I've tried going inside the cheek and using a dropper. More recently I've been spoon feeding very small amounts and slowly. But no matter what at some point he chokes on it. Sometimes a small cough and ofher times (like today) it's a give Mommy a heart attack type choke. Oddly I remember dong the same as a kid. It was the sweetness and thickness hitting the back of my throat that caused it so I imagine like mother like son. So two things...first should I be concerned about his choking today? He coughed it out and even gave a burp after but of course Ive been watching him like a hawk ever since (it was about 4 hours ago). He couldnt have choked on much bc I was giving him so little at a time but still wonder what you ladies think. I may call the ped in thr a.m. For peace of mind. Next...does anyone else have this issue and if so are there any other methods you have used to administer tylenol successfully?

Ask your Dr about giving him tylenol for that long.

As for administration... I'd give the tylenol in the dropper & let the kid suck it out.

Does he use a pacifier? I would stick the dropper in her mouth then stick in the pacifier just as I was pulling out the dropper. She was so happy for the pacifier that she just sucked - sucking down the Tylenol in the process.

Also, if it is just for teething pain, you can probably give a little less than the recommended dose. I found that she took most of the smaller dose but like none if it was bigger, so she actually got more if I gave her less!

We used the suppositories bc DD gagged everytime we tried giving it to her.

Maybe try other pain relieving options such as Hylands teething tablets or clove oil?

Teething is rough and unfortunately it seems like it's never ending...I would really try something else. Tylenol is not the best (use it as a last resort) and to give it so young and often especially if he's having choking issues with it, is probably not the best idea. Have you tried other options? Hylands teething tablets, camilia teething drops, clove oil, frozen washcloth to chew on, etc. Good luck, I hope this passes quickly!
