I dont think it is necessary but it is helpful for us since we dont make enough trash to take it out every single day.

I didn't use it. I live in a 1 level home & just tossed diaper on kitchen trash. Poop diapers were bagged then tosses in trash.

We don't use one. We have a small, step on can with a tight fitting lid. We just empty it whenever needed (it's full, it's garbage day, or it's starting to smell).

Re: diaper pail really needed?
we used our alot, but then once DS started eating lots of stuff after his first birthday no matter what we did it started smelling within a day of changing the bag. So we recently retired it. Now I just throw pee diapers in the garbage (they never smell) and poo we put in powder scented diaper sacks and throw them in the garbage in the kitchen. we take our garbage out alteast every other day and it had not smelled at all.

Not necessary at all, but convenient to have it next to the changing area.

Love my Diaper Genie. Used it until my DD potty trained at 3y3m. Using it now too with 16 month old DS.

We cant live without the diaper genie. Their room is on the 2nd floor and anytime I do change a diaper on the main level it stinks up the kitchen trash.

Re: diaper pail really needed?
Returned ours and no issues. Have a two story house and the pee pee diapers go right in the regular garbage then gets emptied each night. Poopy diapers get tossed into the garage in a plastic bag (I save those supermarket bags for this purpose) and then into the garage in the garbage.

Unless you are going to take the trash out multiple times a day I would def get one.
I have thrown a pee diaper in our kitchen a few nights and forgot to take it out until the morning.....it smelled. And think about the amount of poopie diapers you will have.

Same here. It was a lot cheaper than a diaper genie and we just use plastic shopping bags as the garbage bags.

I think it is totally unnecessary. The idea of a pail of dirty diapers festering in DD room bothers me. We use supermarket plastic bags and put them into the trash can outside daily. It only takes a minute for me to put it in the pail outside.

We never used one. I just throw all diapers into the kitchen garbage and we throw that out once a day. Really bad poopy diapers go in a plastic target bag or supermarket bag then into the kitchen garbage. Our house never smells bad....

This is us - we have an arm and hammer one. I didn't want to waste money on diaper genie bags.

2 kids and never had one. I buy the sassy diaper garbage bags and ties that up for poop and toss in the kitchen garbage. If it's that bad straight to the trash. I've been to several house that have the diaper genie and I smell it. I couldn't have that in dds room all the time. We also take out garbage out daily or at least every other day. I've never had a problem.

Re: diaper pail really needed?
I think I actuality there are very few things that are truly needed.
With that said, we do use the dekkor diaper pail. It's in dd's nursery and it doesn't have a smell at all. I don't run up and down the stairs and out to the trash for every diaper. Although that would be good exercise.

Not necessary. The diaper pail started stinking up DD's room, so now I just use the regular trash.

We use it. We make maybe one bag of kitchen garbage a week so I can't imagine poopy diapers being in there for that long.
