What age did you start Potty Training
Lots of questions! 1. What age and how? For example, did you use the 3 day PT method? or another approach? 2. How long did it take you to successfully PT your LO? 3. Would you have started earlier or waited longer?
TIA

What age did you start Potty Training
My DS is 2.5. He showed signs at 20 months and I didn't push it and now I wish I did. I am going to do the 3 day method in a few weeks. My goal is to have him trained before our vacation in Sept.
The 3 day says 22 months is ideal. My DS is super stubborn so I think he is perfectly capable but is too stubborn.

i kind of willy nilly'd it for a while with my son. at 2 we bought him a potty for his bday & just sat it in the bathroom... i went by his lead
between ages 2 1/2-3 he was a rockstar at using the potty... then when he turned 3 all of it stopped! i chalked it up to me being pregnant with our 2nd & just backed off
when my 2nd was a month old and my older son was 3 1/2 still in diapers i said enough is enough & we did the 3 day method... he was potty trained in a day!! we used pull ups for a couple of months overnight (something that goes against the 3 day method) but eventually phased them out & hes good!!
i think it was easier doing it cold turkey when he was older... he is also a boy so boys are lazy lol with my 2nd son i will do it exactly the same way & see what happens!!
good luck!! and just remember that NO ONE goes to kindergarten in diapers!!

Re: What age did you start Potty Training
I initially tried at exactly 2yrs old, 3 day method. I think it was too aggressive for dd (and me) she wouldn't even sit on the potty and peed everywhere. She wasn't ready.
Since then I've switched her to pull up diapers and told school to start pushing the potty, did the same at home. She liked to sit on it but never peed.
At 2 yr 3 mos, last wknd, I asked her if she wanted to wear big girl underwear she got excited still didn't pee on potty but no accidents. I use pull ups at nap and night Is which is when she went, this went on for 2 days then 3rd day it clicked. Peepee on potty all day long no accidents for 5 days. Still doing pull ups at naps which have been dry and at night which have been soaked no way she can make it just yet (sleeps for 13 hrs) So modified 3 day plan!
Sorry this was Long it's fresh in my mind :)

Re: What age did you start Potty Training
right after DS' 3rd birthday
he trained in ONE day (yes, 1) never wore pull-ups.
Never a peepee accident (a handful of poop accidents when he was too preoccupied to come in from outside)
Waiting until I was sure he was ready was the best decision for everyone! I knew he was ready because he was waking up totally dry after naps and even in the morning for a few weeks.

Re: What age did you start Potty Training
With my youngest, I started at 20 months using the three day method. Took about a week.

My "other" approach was to let daycare do it. It was awesome and she was trained in a week.

What age did you start Potty Training
We waited until 3 years 4 months. I needed to wait for a weekend where we didn't have anything going on and everyone was healthy.
I pretty much just put him in underwear and stayed close to home for 2 days.
The first day went horrible but, it clicked the second day. Number 2 took a little longer but, he was pee trained quickly and has only had a couple of night time accidents in the past year +.
On the third day, he had school and he begged to wear underwear and had no accidents.
He was introduced to the potty at daycare but, had no interest in going until he realized he preferred wearing underwear as opposed to a pull up. He was also waking up dry most mornings at that point.

Re: What age did you start Potty Training
We did the 3 day thing 2 weeks before DS third birthday. He definitely showed signs. Was waking up dry every morning for a few weeks. Was pee trained with a couple of accidents within 2 days. Poop accidents stopped after 5 days. I strongly recommend the three day plan. I like that it tells you to remind your child to tell you when to go as opposed to asking him do you have to go. That way you dont end up with a kid who says no and has accidents or a kid who says yes when they dont have to go and you're making a ton of trips to the potty!! Good luck!

Re: What age did you start Potty Training
Tried around 2. No interest. I was lazy so I just waited, I wasn't in a rush.
At 3y3m I just decided to take her diapers away. I stayed home for three days and after that she was completely trained, no accidents. I kept her in a Pull-Ups at night a little longer, even though she didn't really ever wake up wet, but I went cold turkey on the diapers.
I think waiting so long worked in my favor, potty training was so easy. I'm glad I didn't force the issue earlier.

Re: What age did you start Potty Training
DD has been potty learning since she was 20 months. She will be 2 at the end of the month. She has a few accidents a day. Teaching her to take a dump is not so easy but its getting better

Re: What age did you start Potty Training
We potty trained at 27 months. 3 day method, but took more like a week for us. Day 6 we actually went out w/o a diaper on and were accident free. DD was familiar with going on the potty for a few months though, but we didn't actually start training until 27 months.
She still wears a pull-up at night but wakes up dry 99% of the time. She's 3 now.

DS was fully toilet trained using the 3 day method exactly 1 month after his 3rd birthday. He has been fully trained for a month now with no accidents at home, and only 2 while out. He does wear pull ups overnight, but they do not put one on him for nap time at day care.

DS was 19 months old and we used the 3 day method, it took us 4 days to fully potty trained him thought. He stopped the night pull ups two days before he turned 2.

Why the strange looks and doubt? They thought you started too early?
