Do you alter the vaccine schedule?

Wanted to get some thoughts/opinions on altering the vaccine schedule...esp those with a DS. I had originally planned that we would get all vaccines but spread them out rather than bunch them as recommended by the APA and CDC schedules (ie at two months he got two of four recommended shots and then we went back a few weeks later and got the rest of the two month shots. Also note my son is not going to daycare). However our pediatrician has just suddenly changed their policy and won't allow an altered schedule (as I understand it they had an unvaccinated child perish recently). So now Im trying to decided if we get vaccines according to schedule or switch peds.

I loosely follow dr, sears schedule. I basically do what you were doing- no more than 2 at a time and spread it out. Tough call- do you like everything else about this ped practice?

I would switch. My peds office only does 2 at a time and I liked that with DD I wouldn't want DS getting 4 in a visit.

I have a DD and a DS...........I didn't alter their vaccination schedule at all. I just follow my pediatricians guideline as to when to get what shot.

I never altered the vaccination schedule for either of my boys.

I spread them out. She is up to date, not in daycare, but I don't want more than 2 at a time. I go back a month later just for the remaining shots from the well visit the month before.

I pretty much follow PEDS...They don't do more than 2 a visit though (for instance DS only had DTAP yesterday and rotavirus at 2 month and I think they are supposed to have 5).

My ped never did more than 2 shots a visit, so I follow him.

We also do the no more than 2 a visit. I have an 8.5 month old DS. He's up to date, we just went back for an extra visit or two if we had to.

I follow the ped schedule. If he recommends 3 shots, DD gets three shots. I hate shot day and once every three months is enough for all of us.
ETA: I did opt out of the flu vaccine for her this year, but that's it.

I prefer to have dd on a spaced out schedule. For example, instead of getting both prevnar and pentacel at 2 months, she got one and then the other at 3 months. Personal preference. She's still vaccinated.

I have a dd. We go every 3-4 weeks. I only allow one vacine at a time. By her 15 month visit she will be done and ready for the mmr. My Dr thinks I am little ridiculous but has no issue as long as she gets all the vaccines eventually. A for the schedule he says it is my decision as her mother.

No I do not. I follow the AAP schedule. My daughter has never had so much as a fever.

I follow the standard schedule recommended by the CDC. It is the approach my pediatrician recommends- he will administer the shots staggered if wanted it but I decided it was unnecessary.

I follow my ped's schedule. I trust his medical expertise over mine or the internet.

I did a little. I declined the hep B at the hospital bc I had no idea they did a vaccine then and wasn't prepared. When the ped saw my hesitation he said it's fine to wait so we did it at 2 months which put her behind right from the start (our ped doesn't have you come in for extra visits to make up shots). In hindsight I'm glad I waited bc DD was inconsolable for a few hours after the shot and I would have never connected it had they done it at birth when I didn't know what was normal or not.

After that I went with the recommendations of the ped other than one or two other times I wasn't comfortable with a combination. For example, she had a rough time with the flue shot her first year so the following season when they wanted to combine it with another shot I asked the doctor to split them which they did.

I didn't see a reason to delay just to delay but did what I was comfortable with at the moment. I researched MMR and tried to figure out the benefit of delaying it but couldn't really find one. Since she was behind she didn't end up getting it until 2 so I didn't really have to decide either way.

I see NO problem at all with you choosing to have you child NOT teceive multiple shots in a vists. Their bodies are little and it's a lot to handle. I would switch practices if I were you, you should have the choice to stagger out and remain on schedule. There is no 1 schedule that fits the needs of every child. Delaying something a month or a few weeks shouldn't be a big deal.

We follow our ped's schedule. There's no scientific evidence that separating them is better, otherwise, the medical recommendations would change. Why put DS through more visits to the dr than necessary?

We stagger. She gets no more than 2 shots at a time. She had a horrible reaction to the chicken pox shot so its now 1 shot at a time.

We did it all the way they wanted exxcept MMR I held off unti 2 1/2
