Move to crib...how old?
DS is 12 weeks and just cant get comfortable in the rock n play anymore. I find him with his head bumped up against the top every morning. So I put him in his crib for the first night tonight. He went down without a problem ( he takes his daytime naps in there and so is pretty used to it ) but I am having separation anxiety! LoL I feel like I wont sleep well not knowing whether I will hear him, etc. Ive also read it's good for them to sleep near the mother at this young age. How old was your DC when (if) you moved from your room to the crib? How did it go? Any words of wisdom??

Re: Move to crib...how old?
My kids slept in a bassinet until about 3 months old and then transitioned to their cribs. I couldn't wait to get my kids into their cribs! They were such noisy sleepers!

Move to crib...how old?
DS was in his crib by 3 weeks. None of us were getting any sleep with him in our room since he was such a loud sleeper. At 9 weeks, he is now quieter, but he's staying put in his own room.

Move to crib...how old?
Dont worry that passes. I initially felt that way and then i was like omg i have my room back! I have freedom! Hahaha
I admit i slept with the baby moitor screen on and volume all the way up at first. And i constantly woke up checking the monitor and then checkingon my dd lol but again after a few days maybe a week i felt much more at ease... It will pass and you will be happy to have time to yourself :)

Move to crib...how old?
I moved my DD when she was about 5 months, she's now 13 months. It's a very personal choice and it is good for the baby to be close to their mother so if you like him being in your room maybe try a pack n play/bassinet/co-sleeper etc. My dd always comes into our bed during the night and DH and I love it, I know it's not for everyone but couldn't imagine not have the sweet night time snuggles and waking up to her babbles and smile. There's no right answer, do what works for you and your family. But you will get used to him sleeping in his room!

Move to crib...how old?
DS went to his crib in his own room at 5 weeks. I had separation anxiety too - video monitor helped and also the fact that he woke up often and I had to go see his little squishy face. But it helped me and DH so much to have him out of the room. I was getting NO sleep. The biggest factor in moving him was comfort (like you) - he was in a bassinet (handmade by my grandpa) that swings when the knobs are taken out of the side. He was so heavy and such a wild sleeper that he would rock the knobs out and wind up kinda squished on one side. I felt so bad - he had so much more room in his own crib!

Move to crib...how old?
We put her in the crib at 5 weeks old. She took to it fine! On occasion we will put her back in the RNP but not for a full night. The first few nights were so rough but not for her... for me! I was up staring at the monitor pretty much the entire night.

Re: Move to crib...how old?
My DDs were in their rooms around 3 months. DS is still in with us, at 7.5 months! With 3 kids, and 2 jobs, I just can't get his room finished. It's almost there, so I'm hoping he'll be in there this month...he's running out of room in the bassinet!

Re: Move to crib...how old?
My first son was in the bed the first night but there was no rock and plays back then. My second ds is 8 weeks and has been sleeping in his crib from about 3 or 4 weeks.

Re: Move to crib...how old?
both of my boys went straight into their cribs, in their own separate bedrooms, the night we got home from the hospital.
Aside from a bit of a "lay with me" issue when my first was about 2 y/o - and of course waking up and wanting someone when they don't feel well ........the both go to sleep and stay asleep on their own w/ no issues - I've never had problems with them sleeping at all
I always hear/heard them - especially as babies. And w/ the second, I was on a different floor. Even w/o the monitor I always hear them

Move to crib...how old?
At 10 weeks. Before that he was in the co-sleeper on our bed. He was moving around too much and kept waking himself up. He slept much better in the crib and it was nice to have the bed space back!

Re: Move to crib...how old?
Thank you for all the responses! It puts my mind at ease to see so many of you made the transition at or before this age. He did great last night...it was me that needed some work! haha
