EI question
If a child is delayed in two areas, what is the amount of delay that must be found in order for them to qualify?

Unless it has changed since I learned it in grad school, a child needed a 25% delay in 2 areas, or a 33% delay in one area to qualify.

Thanks! That's what I thought. So 27th percentile would be a 23% delay, correct?

Actually, no. The 27th percentile still falls within the Average range of functioning. It is less than 1 standard deviation of the mean. Take a look at this bell curve...the shaded area is basically the average range, and goes from the 16th-84th percentiles.

TY! That makes sense (mostly).
1SD below is all that is needed to re-qualify to services. So if she is already receiving services, she will still get them. I believe they need 2SD below to qualify initially.
