P-17 shot- Who administers it?
So we decided that I should go on the P17 shot, which I'm totally okay with. Aside from going through IVF to have twin DD's, I also have an illness that requires a 1x week huge long intramuscular needle. NO BIG DEAL- I learned how to do it, how to take it, and how not to fear it. It's been 8 years.
Today, I was told that in order for my insurance company to cover it (progesterone) , a nurse would have to come to my house to give me the shot!

Seriously, the only person who is allowed to see my buttcheek is my husband. I'm so not comfortable with this... Has anyone else gone through this? Is this true for you and for your insurance company?

I had to go to the OB weekly for cervical checks and monitoring because of my high risk pregnancy, so I had one of the nurses at the OBs office do it. I wasn't offered a nurse at home - my other option was for DH to do it.

I had to get 17p injections during my 2nd pregnancy. I had a visiting nurse service also and she administered the shot. But I have no shame in my game . It's not like she even has to see your whole arse, it's usually administered on the upper portion of your glutes . Once in a while if I was scheduled for a drs appointment that week, I'd let my OB do it too. But I have heard of people having their DHs do it. It was definitely not a big deal.

Same as me. Second pregnancy, and a nurse came to give the injections. You are barely pulling your pants down and the injection is closer to your hip than your actual butt. Its no biggie. Shes in and out of my home in ten min.

And you are going to have a entire group of people seeing your hoo ha during delivery so a shot in the butt by a nurse should be nothing!
