Reflux?
My 5 yr old had some reflux as an infant, but figured he outgrew it bc he stopped spitting up. He had issues with food when I first introduced it as well. Gagged and threw up and that was due to sensory issues. Now that he's been eating more I notice for some foods (mostly sauce) he does this thing where it sounds like he's clearing his throat. He does it for a while after dinner. I noticed it more recently bc I made chili one night and the next day had spaghetti. Both made with a tomato sauce.
Do I mention to his Ped and have him recommend a gastroenterologist? I feel bad I waited so long bc it could be doing harm, but forgot about it since he was a picky eater till more recently. Anyone else have experience with this with older kids? Do they take a med everyday or just with certain foods? He said he feels fine while doing it. Not sure if it's something he's used to or if it's even reflux. Thanks!

Re: Reflux?
It definitely could be reflux, although it is also allergy season so he could be dealing with a drip. It doesn't hurt to mention it to your pediatrician.
