Nap schedule for 9 month old

DS does not like to nap. I get him down 2-3x a day for 30 minutes each. When he wakes up he wont go back to sleep but is visibly still tired. Does anyone else go through this?

Re: Nap schedule for 9 month old

My DD (almost 9 months) is very inconsistent with naps. I try to read her cues, but sometimes she's just not having it. Going for a walk in the stroller usually does her in, but the amount of time she sleeps varies from 20-45 minutes. She naps 1-2times a day.

Re: Nap schedule for 9 month old

Yes, story of my life. DS is a horrible napper. He'll be totally exhausted but fight sleep to no end & just scream & scream from tiredness. For a long time I'd just do whatever I could to trick him into falling asleep... movement in the stroller or car usually & it didn't always work & he's just cranky all day. Now I just put him down & let him cry/scream until he falls asleep, usually for 10-15 minutes but still sometimes he doesn't fall asleep or stay asleep. Sometimes he only naps 20 minutes, other times an hour, it's unpredictable how long he'll sleep. Also the number of naps is different every day, sometimes only once, sometimes 2 or 3 times.

My ds went through a phase like that but I've found that since he's been eating solids he's been a much better napper. He eats oatmeal & fruit at about 10am every morning then will have a bottle shortly after and take a good nap usually 2-3 hrs! Maybe try getting him nice and full then relax and put down for a nap. I also still rock him to sleep most of the time- that helps him fall asleep
