I'm scared for when dd starts talking
Today she comes stomping out of her room yelling at me. She's 13 months. Of course I have no clue what she's babbling about but she was not happy. Not crying just babbling away. Occasionally I'd hear a mama thrown in amongst the babble. She even yelled at the dog, her best friend. So of course I start saying well I'm sorry mr puppy did that to you, the duck did that, wow. You're life is so hard, which made the babbling increase. She's such a drama queen it makes us crack up.

I'm scared for when dd starts talking
My DS doesn't do this but I love when toddlers argue (babble) at their parents and make hand gestures as well. I have to turn around and laugh because I find it hilarious.

That's hysterical. Wonder what made her so mad. Hand gestures and a hand on the hip would have sent me over the edge in laughter.

I wanted my DS to talk so badly and now there are days I wish he would shut up for 30 seconds!!!!!

My daughter just turned two but still does a lot of babbling with other words thrown in. The other night she said a whole bunch of gibberish and then looked at me, waiting for a response. I just asked her "what should we do?" and her response was "cake!".

I try not to laugh because it makes her more upset but its hard when this 2 foot person is stomping around. I've walked into daycare and her and her friends are babbling away at each other, sometimes happy, sometimes annoyed. The teachers say they do it all day.

Right now I am in the I just wish she would talk phase. but I know I will eventually regret rushing it lol. She is 22 months now though. She should be talking soon!!!

LOL. DH has a video on his phone of my DD ranting like that before she could speak.
It was hysterical. You could totally tell that she was trying to get some point across, there were even hand motions, etc.
And I feel like she thought she was speaking real words.
We look back on it now that she is 4 and an utter wordsmith who is crazy expressive and we just laugh to think how far she has come!

I agree! Cake is usually a very good solution

lol - so cute!
my neice still speaks what sounds like a bit of gibberish at 3 1/2. Sometimes when she's talking and I'm trying to decipher what she's saying, she gets annoyed and huffs - hands on hips, eye rolling and all!! We laugh but she sure does get annoyed, lol.

Sounds just like DD! The other day Dh was telling her how he had just finished planting a tree. She responded that she wanted to build a tree fort. We laughed and asked if she even knew what a tree fort was. Her reply, "Ummmm, birthday cake!"
It must be a girl thing. DD is so dramatic too! Every time she cries lately we have to discuss it for the next half hour. She's perfectly fine so I try to move on with life and she says she's still crying. Then she adds a little fake cry in to top it off. Sometimes she experiments with different fake cries. My favorite was when she buried her head in her hands and did this dramatic shoulder shaking with each sob. Then she'd peek out to see our reaction and giggle.

Mine does this too! And she'll remind us "Holly was sad". Now she brings the baby into it. "Holly is sad... and Sylvie". Meanwhile Sylvie is sleeping or laughing at the wall. Totally oblivious that anyone was 'crying'. Ahh these girls!

DD blames the dog for everything! If she trips over her feet, she yells the dog's name. He could be in a completely different room, but it was his fault
