We just went two weeks ago and had a great time. My girls were just the right height to go on a lot of rides (36-37 inches). They loved it a lot. We saw a show the frog prince that was really cute and had some cool stunts with divers. The rides were really cute and I enjoyed them too. They also have a pony ride for $6 which was great. We ate at Millers Smorgasbord one morning for breakfast it was $10 per adult and kids I believe under 5 are free.
We were there 2 nights. The first night we drove to the Kitchen Kettle Village and did some shopping. We also got some delicious pretzels down the street from the Kitchen Kettle Village at a small show run by the Amish called Immergut Soft Pretzels 3537 Old Philadelphia Pike. The lemonade and pretzels were amazing.
My friend who goes to Lancaster a lot told me about the Kitchen Kettle Village and the pretzels and I was so happy we went.

Dutch Wonderland is great. We also do Strasburg RR.
We HAVE to eat at Cracker Barrel.....
We were just there last week and my son had a great time.

We were just there last week too. Your kids will love it. It's geared towards smaller kids so its great.
While we were in Penn, we also did the Strasberg Railroad which was fun but I'd skip over the actual train museum. That was boring for DS. Also, try and take a horse and buggy ride. We take the one that leaves from The Red Caboose Motel. The guy who does them, Henry, is really nice.

LOL. what were we all there at the same time?!?! I was there last week too and actually met another LI girl at the DW waterpark! Abe's buggy ride was great. Such nice people! Did Strausberg RR... Nothing spectacular IMO... Dd loves trains so that worked.

I didn't actually go through it. I viewed it from the outside taking the boats around the lake... The dinosaurs moved which was cool... Not sure if they are on a sensor or whatnot. The speedway over there is pretty cool too... Long and twisty track. There's also a fun sandbox type area

Where did every one stay? We usually stay at the Best Western Eden Resort but this time we tried the BW in Intercourse Village. It was Great. We could walk to Kitchen Kettle... So much to see and everything was 10 minutes away by car..

We went Memorial Day weekend FOR the dinosaur opening. I thought it was a bit underwhelming. The dig area is pretty small. The Sunoco car ride was fun but the line was a little long.
The main reason I was underwhelmed is probably because I took the boys to Dinosaurs Alive at Kings Dominion 2 months ago and their dinosaur area was fantastic. I was expecting equal or better.
My kids are huge dinosaur fans.

Oh i have to check out the kings dominion thing. DS is a huge dino fan too.
Kings Dominion also had this great 3d dinosaur movie the boys LOVED. there was one scene where a pteranodon was chasing the main character in the air. It felt so real. the boys absolutely loved it.
We had not gone to dutch wonderland for a few years and I personally thought Kings Dominion was a lot nicer. The KD dinosaur area was about 3 times as big as Dutch Wonderland. The rides were also newer or maybe better maintained.
BUT Dutch Wonderland has a new dole whip ice cream stand! Super yummy pineapple and orange dole whip. Only other places I know you can get that are Hawaii and Disney!

We took DD for the first time at 16 mo. There were a good amt of rides she could do but I think it was more fun for us to watch her. We spent a few hours at the park and did some other things. I remember we rode the train with her (it goes around the park), the merry go round, DH took her on a monster truck ride (it goes really slow) and there were several others. They have a handful of rides that go very slow. There are also a few shows you can sit and watch. I was also pregnant at the time and it was hot and humid so I didn't last long outside.
We also spent time at the pool at Eden Resort, which is very nice (not your typical hotel pool, there are jets of water that shoot up which the kids love, I believe there's a spray park and a playground) and family orientated. They have 2 restaurants right at the hotel that are great for eating with little ones. It's basically just families with young kids everywhere.

Do you think I can do 2 kids solo?
Ages: 2.5 and almost 4.
4 yr old is over 36 inches.
Do I have to go on the rides with them?

Certain rides you will have to go on with them - some they can sit together and you can go on as well (the monster trucks, turtle whirl) but, others like the Old Fashioned Cars and smaller rollercoaster only accommodate one adult and one child in a seat.
