if you have 8/9 month old
What is your childs favorite toy at the moment?
DS is only beginning to be interested in what we are eating. Ive been giving him puffs and cheerios. I was told to try mum mums. I cut up pancakes very tiny the other day and fed to him. He loved until he chocked on a piece. Any other advice on starting foods? What are you feeding your baby?

DS loves a spinning bee toy a friend gave him - obsessed. As for food, he's had cheese, yogurt melts, rice, steak and pasta, but very tiny pieces. He also choked on pancakes and crackers LOL

Re: if you have 8/9 month old
DS is almost 8 months. His favorite toys are anything of his brother's and anything that plays music. Mostly he just loves standing now though!
We've only given him Puffs so far. We'll probably try cheerios and things like pancakes soon, but I'm not really in a rush.

Re: if you have 8/9 month old
ETA: 9.5 month old DD
Toys... DD will play with anything novel. If she hasn't played with it before she loves it for about 20 minutes. She likes things that make sounds or light up. She also likes any toy that has a flat lip to put in her mouth.
As for foods, DD is a little slow. purées and oatmeal for the most part. With purées she usually eats 2-3 oz. Sometimes less, rarely more. We have done puffs, Cheerios, Kix, mozzarella cheese, white beans, noodles, and various soft fruits ( watermelon, mango, kiwi,) these things we have tried are mostly just tastes. She won't eat enough to actually consist of a meal.
Ie: last night for dinner she ate 6 beans, 1/2 a noodle, and 1oz of vegetable purée. That's it.

Toys - anything she can put in her mouth or that lights up/songs songs. She loves really anything at this point
She's eating mostly solids at this point cut in small pieces. I cook up carrots and cut them in small pieces. Brown rice cereal - I started by breaking them in half. She's eating chicken, chopped beef, fruits and veggies., we don't do oatmeal or dairy products etc
I found starting with things like dried fruits worked well bc she could hold it herself and suck on it.

I did cottage cheese first (didn't go over well) but DD loves mozzarella. I get the fresh moz. It breaks down nicely.

I get these organic cheddar cheese sticks I think the brand is called Stringles. You can get them at Whole Foods. Just cut up into little peices

Re: if you have 8/9 month old
DS will be 9 months on the 19th. He loves balls , blocks, fp activity table, Sophie the giraffe,Fp tool bench. He has been refusing purées for weeks now so I just give him whatever we are eating..... Chicken, beef, all fruits and veggies. He can't have dairy or eggs because of allergies so meals have been a challenge.

Re: if you have 8/9 month old
DS will be 8 months next week. We are still on purees only because the few times I have tried more solid food he has gagged/choked and thrown up.
Favorite toys are anything that opens/closes and makes noise. He loves blocks because he likes to hit them on things and hear the sound they make. He also is still very into mirrors and likes to chat with his reflection. Mostly he likes to crawl around the room chasing things, or trying to catch the dog's tail.
