Which bug spray do you use?
DD is 14 months old. I have always gotten terribly bitten up by bugs my entire life- therefore I'm extra paranoid about bugs and bug bites. What is a good and non chemical based bug spray I can use on DD?

Which bug spray do you use?
We used babyganics last year and I hated it. It was greasy and smelled so strongly of citronella not to mention DD got eaten alive anyway. I just got some of the avon bug gaurd without picardin. Haven't tried it yet but it has great reviews and is deet free so hopefully it will work well.

I was wondering about Avon and how they compare to others. Is the bug guard specific for babies?

Best stuff out there to prevent Mosquitos is deep woods off (has the highest DEET content by %).
Scented stuff actually attracts Mosquitos (especially the DEET free stuff).
To avoid chemicals on our kids, we don't use spray. We keep them indoors in the evenings when bugs come out. If we need to be outside once in a blue moon, we spray lightly with off.

I've been using the Avon bug guard without Picardin for the last 2 years in my kids. Started using it at 6 months old and found it to work the best. We rarely get bit when we have it on.

I don't like the idea of a spray getting into their lungs. Does anyone have any other suggestions like towels/wipes?

Spray it on your hands and wipe it on them?
I agree with you and this is what we have done the past few times.

Th avon bug guard is a lotion and I do think they make towelettes too.

It's not specifically for babies but mos anything (including the deet products) will say they're safe from 6 months. The reviews on amazon are really high and I've had a few people I know recommend it. We always used the original skin so soft when I was a kid and it seemed to work.

I don't have any experience with this, but I asked my ped at DD's 9 mos visit and he said make sure you use something with 10% deet. Anything less than that doesn't work.

Deep Woods Off. Just spray some on their clothes or my hands and wipe it on their clothes.

AVON skin so soft bug spray. It is the ONLY one that works for my son. HE is really allergic to mosquito bites...

Yup. One of my kids has terrible reactions to bites. Giant swollen bumps, I mean like 3 inch diameter or more. I use deet. I rather that than deal with such bad reactions. Nothing else has worked for us.

avon makes the bug spray wipes...i havent used them yet but i hear they are great. i also bought the one from the honest company that i heard was good.
