Should I give up on potty training?
DS is 2 1/2. We've been potty training for a month. I would say 7 times out of 10 if I bring him to pee, he will do it. The other 3 times he will vehemently refuse to try. During the first week he said "I have to do peepee" about three or four times. That has since disappeared. He pooped in the potty a couple times. If I don't lead him to the potty he will happily go in his pullup. Maybe he's not ready? I have an older DS so when the younger easily obliges to go at the same time, I'm not going to stop him, but should I stop pushing it? DS1 trained in just a few days and just seemed to get it easily.

I would try without the pull up and see what happens. Or if your concerned with the mess - put a pair of underwear inside the pull up so if he wets he can feel yucky. That mght move him along. I think at that age they need to be reminded alot

In my experience training three kids, the best way is to remove the pull-up. See what happens. If nothing's changed in week then you might have to move on to Plan C  but that's my semi-professional advice. (I will say that my 3.5 yr old has been trained a year this summer and still uses "nighttime underwear"  (aka pull-up ) at night though)

I agree with above.
3 day method worked for us.
Kids still sleep with diapers.

I believe when they are ready, it is quite easy.
I was done with diapers when they were 2.5, my sons were ready at 3.
Once they wanted to do it, it was easy. They just went. They told me when they wanted to go, and had very few accidents. Much simpler than bribes, sticker charts, candy, cleaning up accidents and changing clothes several times a day!
Mine were both a little over 3 when they trained.

Stop with the pull ups and go straight to underwear only. Not easy but they will learn better. Try sticker charts with a price box.
They get used to the pull up as just being a diaper.
I did the 3 day potty method, worked great

I agree with getting rid of the pull ups. My DS is newly trained and I pretty much threw the diapers away and went straight to underwear.

Same for us. We threw out the diapers and only use a Pull up at night. The 3 day method worked great for pee but pooping in the potty took well over a month to get. If he had an accident, it was in his "big boy underwear". By 2 1/2 he was fully day trained.
