Venue dilema
What would you do?
Option 1 = Book a Saturday afternoon from 12-5 but guest would most likely have to pay for meter parking.
Option 2 = Book a Sunday afternoon from 12-6 and guest won't pay for meters but the kids have to rush home to prep for schoool the next day.
Option 1 would be $105 cheaper.

My vote would be for Saturday - I've been to parties with parking meters and it's not that big a deal.
If you're worried about it - what about bringing a bag of quarters and getting a kid/yound adult to go feed the meters if the time expires?

3 hours won't be enough. I have a good friend who has an amazing voice who will come and sing some of the frozen songs. I also have a face painter and I have about 20 kids. I think 5 hours would do.

I am sure you can fill the time. From a guest perspective, I would be shocked at a 5-6 hour children's party. Weddings are only 4 hours  I just don't think my 16m old and 4 year olds would cooperate for a party that long at a venue. (outside at someone's house where they can run around etc would be different).
Either way, I am sure it will be a blast.

Now thinking about it, you could be right. Either way the hall rents upto 6 hours.

Option 1 - but make sure people know its meter parking and bring quarters just in case.
I do agree about the time though, I would be surprised to be invited to a party that was 5 hours long for kids. 2-3 hrs is my tops because of attention span and needing to get things done on the weekends!

I'd do Saturday. I'm sure most of the dads would welcome the break from a kids' party to run to the meter  
Valet isn't an option, I'm assuming?

If you choose option 1, then you should let everyone know how to pay for the meters. If it's coins, we never have any so that would be a PITA for us.
If it's a hall, don't they offer valet parking?

I would do Saturday but try to have someone designated to keep tabs on the meters to either do it for the guests or give out quarters reminding people to do it.

I would do Saturday, bring a ton of change and have someone keep feeding the meters. 5 hours is insanely long for a kids party though . I would cap it at 3 hours.

Sat but provide quarters and advise of meters beforehand. 5hr party is too much every kid I know would be having a meltdown. How old is the child?

However.....
Most parties I go to are 1.5 hours, I went to one that was 2 hours and it was too long. I couldn't imagine going to a 5 or 6 hour party.

I would do Sunday. Some guests won't mind metered parking,,some may find it tacky, not to mention they may not be prepared with quarters.
I also agree with those who commented on the length of the party. Forget about the kids, as an adult I would find a 6hr party sort of tedious!

I definitely agree that 5-6 hours is too long- it's a kid's birthday party, not a wedding  I would say 2-3 hours max.
I would do Sunday, just so nobody has to worry about meters and quarters and all of that. But Saturday would be ok, too- I would just put something on the invitation about meter parking so they know to bring quarters

I would do option 2. However, even with a singer and face painter, 5 hours is way too long. Most parties are 2 hours tops. I would be shocked to receive an invite for a party that long.
