Flat feet
Maybe ask your doctor. I have had flat feet my entire life and shoes didn't help me; I ended up wearing orthotics since I could walk. The orthotics definitely helped and made it more comfortable for me.

Flat feet
DD has flat feet and her physical therapist just recommended something supportive. 99% of the time she's in stride rite's. I don't buy anything for her that doesn't have an arch in it. She recommended having her barefoot on a variety of surfaces (playmat, carpet, wood, grass), setting up a bin with rice or beans for her to stand and play in outside, and I'll try to have her barefoot on the beach a lot this summer. I also encourage her to walk on her tippy toes now that she's able to. They're muscles are sill developing up until I think age five so I was told no orthotics yet since it still has time to correct itself.
