SPR: Question for dairy free moms
I had my third baby 2 weeks ago and am EBF. We found out this week that she has a milk protein allergy. My first had it as well and I went on a dairy elimination diet as soon as we found out and successfully BFed him till he self weaned at 15 months. I am now starting the elimination diet again. When I was on it with my first, I found great dairy free alternatives for everything except cheese. Has anyone found one that tastes good? I'm wondering (hoping!) if there is a tasty cheese alternative that I just haven't found yet. TIA!

Have you tried the Daiya brand? It's pretty good and actually melts/gets stringy.

I hate to break the bad news but I don't think there is a good alternative, at least in my opinion. Daiya is the "newest" thing but I didn't like it at all :( I found the best replacement for cheese was to use avocado (fatty/smooth flavor) which I used on everything (sandwiches, burgers, pizza, eggs etc).

Yes! I think this is the best cheese substitute.

Daiya cheddar is ok. Three brothers vegan pizza is pretty good and I think they use Daiya.
