Fungal diaper rash
I am pretty sure DS has a fungal diaper rash as Desitin and Triple Paste have not helped at all. It is red and slightly bumpy. Is there something I can try over the counter or homeopathic or do I need to just take him to the ped. foran Rx?

Re: Fungal diaper rash
My DS had the same and the Ped happened to see it at one of the Well visits. I think it depends on how bad it is, but an anti-fungal cream worked for us. You may want to call your Ped to confirm which one to get.
If it's pretty bad, I think they an also prescribe something as well.

Lotrimin worked for us. Within 1 day we saw improvement. My aunt recommended it and I asked the pediatrician.. he said the same thing. GL!

Fungal diaper rash
Coconut oil is supposedly anti-fungal.

Fungal diaper rash
Lotrimin is over the counter. Dd had a fungal rash and the only thing that worked was coconut oil.

Dd had the same thing. Pedi prescribed a cream and it worked almost immediately.

Lotrimin AF(has to be the AF-antifungal). I use the triple paste antifungal.

Fungal diaper rash
The ped can give you a prescription cream. Get on top of it quick because it can take forever to clear up

Re: Fungal diaper rash
No wipes! Water and a soft cloth only. And put the cream on so heavy that you can't see the skin.

Re: Fungal diaper rash
I'M WRITING IN ALL CAPS B/C THIS IS THE BEST EVER:
#1 - DON'T WIPE PEE
#2 - MIX 30 DROPS GRAPEFRUIT SEED EXTRACT WITH ONE CUP OF WATER IN A HARMON SPRAY BOTTLE
#3 SHAKE BOTTLE AND SPRAY AREA AT EACH CHANGE
You should see a difference practically overnight. It's amazing. If you're prone to yeast infections yourself - you can use it too.
ETA: coconut oil didn't work for us - I tried that first.

This is what we've been given in the past and it has worked great! However, i am not a fan of using the RX cream if i don't have to. When DS gets the fungal rashes i don't use wipes for pee, i just air dry him and then i use plain cornstarch on him. It's helped clear him up pretty quickly and keeps him pretty dry in the area.

Yep it's an anti fungal cream. if it's fungus infection none of those creams will work. You ca either get lotrimin or get your Ped to prescribe you an Rx for an anti fungal
