Any Baby Wearing "Experts" Out There?
I have a 3 week old - and looking for recommendations for a carrier/ wrap/ sling that I could use with her, mostly for use around the house/backyard and for occasional trips to the park with my toddler.
Something not terribly complicated to use, but rather easy on easy off that will allow me to be hands free.
What is the difference/ pros /cons between slings. carriers and wraps?
I am trying to breast feed.. are some better than others for breast feeding purposes?

I would suggest joining the Long Island Babywearing group on FB, babywearing 102. I use wovens so I can't really help behind that, but ergo is probably what you're looking for. I've heard it's easy to nurse discreetly in.

It really is all a matter of preference. I wouldn't call myself an expert, but I have a variety of the carriers you mentioned. As far as ease of use, I would say a ring sling or a k'tan. The ring sling will be useful for a longer period of time whereas the k'tan really only works up until 15 lbs. some people love ring slings and some don't. You could also get a buckle carrier like an ergo or a tula and use an infant insert. I have both and prefer my tula. I am just starting to get in to woven wraps, which I really like, but there is a bit of a learning curve. I wouldn't say it was an easy on and off for a beginner, but it becomes easier over time when you learn some different wraps that you like. As the previous poster suggested, I would join some babywearing groups. There is a Long Island one on Facebook that has monthly meetings where you can try other moms carriers and maybe find the best fit for you!
