DD's classmate bday party
DD is invited to a classmate's bday party and we will most likely attend. What would be an appropriate amount to spend on him? And what do you think I should get him (4 yo boy). Thanks.

I'd say around $15-20...no idea on gifts, maybe just a toy or some books.

Re: DD's classmate bday party
We went to one a few weeks ago - I spent $35 for a 4 y/o boy.
I was looking for something in the $25 range but honestly it was all crap and didn't even look worth the $25.
I think buying for a girl is easier - more choices, not that expensive. Boy toys just seem bigger in general i.e. action hero playsets, hotwheel tracks etc

I usually try around $25. There's always Legos, racetracks, superhero stuff, books.
One of my fav gifts DS gets is a book around $10 - $15 with a $10 - $15 GC to Barnes and Noble. DS loves going to pick out a book himself.

I usually spend $20-$25. I've been getting Pottery Barn kids Beach towels - they are on sale right now for $20 with free shipping. I've also done Legos.

Re: DD's classmate bday party
I usually spend ~$25-$30. I usually buy clothes (since that is what I'd prefer my kids get, they already have so many toys).

This is such a great idea! Just ordered a towel for a party DD has in a couple of weeks.
