1st communion photos
Do most people do professional photos? When? Between the church and the party? I'm trying to figure out how to do this. I can't see trying to keep DD neat enough to do it after the party, and I can't even imagine having to get her all done up another time, including hair to do them on a different day. So, do I take her to a photo place after the church, and just be late for her own party? Don't know why I can't figure this out, but I'm just lost.

1st communion photos
The only person I know who did professional pics is a friend who's sister is a photographer.
I would just take some shots myself and be done with it. It's a huge cost.

Most times I do them on a different day- before or after the actual day. Unless you have a photographer hired for the event that day then its probably too hectic to schedule a shoot in between.

So you had their hair re-done for the photos? Or you did something different with it? I can't do DD's hair fancy to save my life, but I guess I could try to fake something decent.

What time is church? Can you take her before? I was at JCP the other day and a woman was scheduling them after church before party.

Most people have them done on a differnt day - either before or after.
I would just wing her hair as best as I could for them or go and have it blown out - that shouldn't cost as much as an updo...I think..lol

My sister had a photographer take pictures of my niece before the communion. The photographer took pictures at my sister's house and at the church before the communion started.
