Another Extended BF Question...
Everyone on here was so helpful a week or so ago when I asked some questions about starting WCM while still BFing.
I'm still BF in the AM and PM (and yes the occasion when she wakes up in the middle of the night -- zzzzzzz)
So DD has taken to the WCM during the day with the nanny. Since I'm still pumping at work I have been mixing BM with WCM but moving for the majority of the WCM b/c of the benefits of WCM for her brain development.
I'm still pumping 2x during the day and after the AM feeding since I'm still really full. I'm finding that I have alot of extra BM. I still use it for her oatmeal, but am wondering if I stop pumping during the day, will I still have milk for the AM and PM feedings?
DD is not ready to give up BM (and neither am I so I really don't want to lose the milk)
Any advice is SOOO Much appreciated!!

I never pump and haven't for weeks and always have milk when DD wants to nurse. Your body will absolutely adjust. During the week DD nurses at night and through the night. On weekends DD nurses during the day as well, and we have no issues. I also never get uncomfortable now and never need to pump.

Another Extended BF Question...
Just drop one pumping session at a time and your body will adjust accordingly. I didn't pump often but when weaning my dd, I just dropped a feeding every few weeks and it worked out fine. At one point, I was down to just the morning and nighttime feeds and was fine during the day. Then I dropped the nighttime one and only nursed her in the morning for a few more months. I didn't really leak much or feel uncomfortable the other hours of the day and she was able to nurse just fine when she needed.

Oh really? that's great news. Your schedule is exactly what I want to do with DD.

It sounds like you won't have the problem of running out, but I did dry up once I stopped pumping during the day. I managed to go another month BF in the AM and PM and occasionally an overnight waking, but there just wasn't enough to satisfy DD at that point.
She was visibly and audibly upset with the amount of milk she was getting, so one night, I tried to BF and then switched to a bottle instead. She gulped it down and we never looked back. I was totally in the "your body will adjust and produce what your kid demands" camp until I dried up. My body adjusted alright, just more so than I wanted it to!
Looking back though, I do believe I had supply issues throughout the entire 13mo that DD was BF, but I was too stubborn and determined to EBF to see it. Knowing what I know now, I think that if I continued to pump at least once a day, I would've been able to keep BFing. I'm still happy to have made it 13mo though!

Pretty much exactly this. I dried up fast after I stopped pumping and went to am/pm feeding. The milk was NOT there when he wanted it. In fact he got frustrated and at that point we weaned (which was ok with me as he was 13 months and my goal was a year). I remember him sucking and sucking trying to stimulate a letdown and he would swallow for like 2 seconds and go right back to sucking phase. I knew I was done at that point.

You def need to cut out one session at a time.

I stopped pumping with DS1 at 12 months, but my supply was pretty low at that point. I nursed him in the morning until he weaned at 15 months. I stopped pumping with DS2 at 12 months. I nursed him 1-2 times per day until 19.5 months.
