Would you send your younger child to a slightly inferior preschool for convenience?
Our two boys currently attend a wonderful preschool that we love. DS#1 starts kindergarten this fall and we plan to send him to aftercare at another preschool closer to our house and elementary school. Current preschool cannot provide aftercare.
Between going in opposite directions, going in and out of school with other sibling, etc, it will add about 30 min in the morning and 30 min in the afternoon so total 1 hour per day.
The "inferior" preschool seems to have equally high quality teachers. Facilities are worse but still good. "Inferior" preschool does not have all the extras like fantastic fitness, foreign language, music teachers, science teachers and weekly shows that current school has.
WWYD?
A. Keep DS#2 at current preschool and accept the 30 min extra per morning and afternoon
B. Move DS#2 to the preschool that provides aftercare for DS#1
C. Other

It's just preschool, I can't see doing that commute for a preschool. I would switch him, but that's just me.

I agree. While the first school sounds great, it doesn't seem worth the extra commute for preschool to me.

I agree. While the first school sounds great, it doesn't seem worth the extra commute for preschool to me.

Ditto. Take the extra hour you'll save and use that to enrich DC on your own. If you do that, DC will have a "superior" education at the end of preschool.
