Dentist
When did you first take LO to the dentist?
Ped is saying at 1 year. is that what you did? We don't have her on dental insurance. How much is this going to cost me?

I just took ds on Saturday. He turned 2 in Dec. my dentist doesn't see kids til 5 so we had to use a ped dentist. Many don't take insurance so I had to call around. I used Broadway Smile in massapequa and they were great. I am sure you can call and ask how much and appt would be.

I took DD around 18 months and probably will take her again between 2.5 and 3. Honestly, they didn't do much at the first appointment and I think it would have been fine if we had waited.

1 year old.
But if you don't have insurance I would wait until 2.
We go to a reg. dentist, not pediatric ( I am in the field as well).
They just counted DS teeth and showed him cool "tools" and mirrors. The first time they clean his teeth it was at 2- he did great.

We just went at 19 months. One of the girls has spots on her teeth-which turned out to be nothing.
If she didn't have them, I would not have taken them until 3 though.

DS is 15 months old and his 5th and 6th teeth just started to break through. My cousin is a dentist and said not to bother coming in yet. Plus, there's no way DS would open his mouth for the dentist!

DS was 3.
We will take DD for the first time this summer at 18months!
If you are looking for a dentist, we 100% recommend Dr. Denise Cohen :) She is a vendor here!
