birthday party for 2 kids?
Hi all!
Both of our boys have August birthdays. My little one was born in August of 2013 so he will be celebrating his first birthday this August. My oldest will be 5. SInce I've had my little one, I stopped working bc we could not afford daycare for 2 kids and we live OOS away from family.
My question is: Would you do a combined birthday? We have had my oldest son's birthday out in the past, but this year our budget is pretty tight. Our options are to possibly have it out, but keep the list of kids to a limit? if we do that, then I would just invite both families back to our house for a 1st birthday cake. The only other option is to do something at our home, but if I invite my older son's friends, I don't want them to feel obligated to bring a gift for the baby.
Any suggestions? Just trying to keep it budget friendly if I can-thanks!!

birthday party for 2 kids?
I have had joint parties for my kids that are currently 2 and 4. As far as people feeling obligated to bring a gift for the baby, I have actually sent out different invitations depending on their relationship with my children. If the know both kids, I put it's x and x birthday party. If they only know one, I just wrote the 1 child's name so they wouldn't feel obligated to get a gift for the other child that they don't really know.

for family and family friends - i'd put both kids on the invite - for youi older son's school friends, I'd just put his name on the invite. - problem solved !

Thank you so much ladies! I don't know why I didn't think of that-LOL!
Do you have any suggestions on how to word the invite? I know it's so early, but truth be told, I bought a groupon for vista print that's expiring soon, so I was hoping to get ahead on the invites!! LOL!
