Preschooler Witholding Pee

DD1 was potty trained at an early age (sometimes I think too early, not at night) Shortly before I delivered DD2 and thereafter she started to have pee pee accidents. Just a little- initially we thought it was regression because of the new baby. It would ebb and flow where we would have a great run of all dry days. It almost never happened at school (2.5 hour day, teacher says she uses it at school).

She recently got over a UTI (which I think she got BC she witholds) She will almost always argue with me about using the potty- "I'm going to keep this up and stay dry!" or "I can hold it!" primarily bc I think she doesn't want to miss anything.

Ped says to ditch the pull ups at night... EVERY night she wets the bed. She doesn't even wake up!

I am trying so hard to be patient with her- but even last night right after she used the potty and went to bed- she came out with no panties on bc she wet them? I really feel like I am at a loss.

I am going to discuss with ped again but I really think its attributed to behavior, especially bc she does the pee pee dance while telling me she doesn't have to go.

I am going to start her on the timer again today and see if that helps.

Has anyone ever gone through this? she is almost 3.5

DS is the same age (3.5). He was potty trained at 2yrs 2 months.

He still has a few accidents when he's doing something "fun" and does the pee pee dance. Never happens in school.

He has never been dry at night (his little sister is, though, at not even 2.5, dry).

My ped says not to worry about it & some kids can do this til 6. She says that's why they make pullups that go so big Chat Icon I do have a boy & UTIs are less of an issue, but my sister had an issue with keeping dry at night when she was a kid too... so I never really thought anything of it.

I would first have her checked again for UTI and if negative then do a timer with reinforcement system. If she goes when timer goes off she gets a little something special. If she wets, reset timer doesn't get something special.
for night time, I would probably go back to pull-ups. Doesn't sound like she is ready to lose them yet.
