Re: wedding bridal parties and siblings

My dh had my brother and I had his 2 sisters. My brother is getting married and both dh and I are in the wedding. It wasn't ever a question.

Re: wedding bridal parties and siblings

I had my sister and dh had his brother as one of our MOH and Best man. I have 4 siblings. All of which are married. I wanted a small bparty so I didn't have them. Just friends. And my niece was FG

wedding bridal parties and siblings

My brother was not in my wedding party. He's almost a decade older than I am and we are not really close at all. It wasn't important to me for DH to include him, so he didn't.

wedding bridal parties and siblings

My sister's wedding: I was in, my 2 brothers were not
My first brother's wedding: my other brother was in, 2 sisters were not
My second brother's wedding: My other brother was in and I was in, my sister was not
My wedding: I only had MOH (my sister) and BM, my brothers walked me down the aisle

In our family, a lot of it had to do with who the inlaws wanted from their own family and friends to be in the wedding. So for example, in my one brother's wedding, my SIL had 2 sisters and 2 close friends that were in the wedding, so she didn't have me or my sister. I didn't care and my sister was about to give birth, so she was not upset either. In my sister's wedding, her DH has 2 brothers and a cousin who is like a 3rd brother, so he only had those 3 and not my brothers.

Re: wedding bridal parties and siblings

i had my brothers and sisters in my wedding. also my dh's sisters and brother were in the wedding. i had no close female friends at the time. my dh had had his closest friends. it was an even party. i basically had anyone blood related to me and my husband in the party except for our 6 month old niece and 18 month old niece.

eta. i did have my brother's wife do a reading. i also had my sister's husband carry the gifts to the altar. my other sister n laws and brother n laws had to take care of children.

Re: wedding bridal parties and siblings

When I got married I had only one of my sister's in the bridal party-as my MOH. My husband had his son as the best man (he was 14 at the time). The rest of the bridal party was all of our nieces and nephews. I am the last of four girls, so when I was married my sisters were in their late 30s and 40's. I didn't think they wanted to be in matching dresses at their age and deal with the hoopla of it all-and they appreciated that sentiment. We also had a lot of nieces and nephews (five nieces and two nephews) and couldn't see just picking one or two to be in the wedding. We are both teachers and knew what it would mean to the kids to be in the wedding so that is what we did. We did have everyone in the limos though, so they got the benefits of the wedding party, without the hassle! It worked out great!

My brother was too young and immature to be in the wedding party. He walked my mom down the aisle.

Re: wedding bridal parties and siblings

My brother wasn't a groomsman in my wedding. I didn't get along with him well at the time, he wasn't very nice to us, kind of immature, so it never crossed my mind to have him in it. DH has his brothers & 2 friends as groomsmen.
