This letter is a spot on example of just how out of touch Fishtcks Paltrow is with the goings on, on the planet Earth.

And one of my fave GP quotes:
“I am who I am. I can’t pretend to be somebody who makes $25,000 a year.”

I remember when she said that. She's an asshole. It's called empathy. We are fortunate enough to be comfortable financially but I sure can empathize for families that struggle to put food on the table and clothing on their kids backs.

Are her and Gisele BFF's?

They're both the same kind of asshole.

I was a big GP fan, but this is ridiculous. I didn't realize how out of touch she is. I will be unsubscribing from her newsletter tout de suite.

I thought this was also an (old) but interesting read:

You know, she should watch what she says. Maybe she's going to offend & disgust too many people and no one's going to want to see her act in anything. Then she'll be making $0 a year.

But isn't a lot of Hollywood a little like that? Or a lot like that? I can't get over how pretentious and self important people at awards shows have gotten-going on about their craft and such.

Her and her (ex) husband's net worth is estimated somewhere around $280 million...give or take. So I can see how it must be really hard for them... Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Yup, I'm sure they were having the same conversation that I was having with my husband last night on cutting back on meals out and how to cut back our monthly utility bills. Chat Icon

What an asshat.

Gwyneth had two famous, rich parents. She was born rich. Many Hollywood actors and actresses come from humbler beginnings. Gwyneth has never not been rich. She is so far from being a normal person, she truly has zero clue what it's like to be a human being.

I'm not saying there aren't gross people in Hollywood who think this way, but I feel like when you're born into a normal setting, you don't say shit like this out loud, much less in an interview.

I may be the only one but I think the writer comes off as bitter. Every mom makes sacrifices no matter what they do. The internet is a toilet bowl where anyone with an opinion can write a blog and start stirring shit...

I can't stand this woman, I think she's gross both aesthetically and intellectually. It really irks me that DH thinks she's hot. Puke.

Love the letter though!

Dear Gwyneth, (an open letter from a working mom)

The writer deserves to be bitter. How dare GP think that she could say something like that and still have a career? Who does she think goes to watch her movies and buy her cookbooks? The 2% of America who makes a few mil a year, or us peons who have utilities on a budget? I work my ass off.... How could she compare?

I don't think the woman is bitter, I think she's very angry like the majority of us were reading Gwen's statement.

I see your point, but I'm sure we can all name people we know who have it worse than us...those who may be raising kids alone, have to work several jobs to make ends meet, those who aren't able to put food on the table every day.

So while I do think some people have it easier than I might, I'm definitely grateful for my situation and wouldn't say something ridiculous like this.

I disagree, I know in many ways I have it easier than others based on our income and family help, I know this. She is an asshole
