 Looking for cushioned head board like this... 
 Anyone have suggestions on where to find for not that much money, for my son's room and who knows what he'll do to it as he's just two but already out of crib.

Have you checked overstock? I bought one from them years ago and it was very nice and affordable.

they have two options, but only in twin size-- not exactly the color I want either, but I can be flexible as long as it;s brown.

I don't know what size you need but these are similar.

  Not exactly the same and certainly not real leather (that will always cost you a lot) but they are close.
