Did you ever go to dancing school?

Where? What did you take? Who were your teachers?

I went to June claire on North Babylon

I took tap and ballet. 7 years.

I had Mr Bill and Miss Denise

yep- Amy Tyler school of dance in Port Jeff

where we don't teacher a dance- we teach to dance

I took Jazz and Ballet- about 4 or 5 years

needless to say- I can't dance

Yes, Jan Martin for 7 years. Ballet, tap, jazz, and one year of acrobatics...lol.

I went to the Eglevsky school. I started right after Andre Eglevsky died, but his wife was still a teacher there. I took Ballet and Pointe before I began to have hip problems, and Ms. Eglevsky said that I would never be able to dance in a production, so I left & began to Ice Skate competitively instead.

I went once, this place in Flushing, the mean teacher singled me out because I couldn't get this move—she made everyone else sit down and just repeatedly yelled at me until I did the move for everyone. Needless to say, I refused to go back. I was seven. Then for the next six months I drove my sisters and mom crazy doing that move around the house in the same light blue leotard I so carefully picked out and wore to my one day of class. I had to get my recital time in some how. Dream crusher!

Ballet - 7 years
Tap & Jazz - 4 years

3-4 x's per week 2-3 hours per day

Yes, I went to susan brown in commack for four years, I don't remember who my teachers were though, I was very young.
I regret that I did not go for longer!

Frank Ohman School of Ballet; he was a former New York City Ballet soloist when George Balanchine was still alive. Later, I went to Joffrey in NYC (Dorothy Lister) and then moved to Richmond Ballet in VA for a while.


At the serious level, I danced 7 days a week....3 hours at night during the week. Class on Saturday morning and rehearsals all day Sunday. It was my life.

I went for 12 years. Tap, ballet, gymnastics, twirling, jazz..the owner of my dance studio taught almost all the classes. She was a former rockette and she got me an audition but I chickened out.

I did dance for many years, most significantly at Steps Ahead in Howard Beach.

Yes. Ballet at Janet's Dance school in Brooklyn. My teacher was Miss Paula and Miss Janet. I took Ballet from I was 9 years old to 14 years old. I love Ballet it teaches you alot of discipline.

I went to Dance Odyssey in West Babylon. I took jazz for about 7 years. Can't remember all of my teachers names though.

Yes, I went to a few, all in Brooklyn.

I can't remember the name of it now but when I was 7 I took ballet at the same dance studio where Tony practiced in Saturday Night Fever. Then I went to Miss Doreen's Reflections in Dance for about 5 years (tap, ballet and jazz) and then Starmaker for one year where I did pointe.

I did when I was a kid. Not for training just for fun. I can't even remember where I went

i did about 6 or 7 years of tap and jazz in 3 differant schools in brooklyn (cant remember the names) and i did 16 years of baton twirling.

I went to Amy Tyler too...what years did you go?

I am 29- and I stopped when I was 12/13

I started around 9- so I stopped in 1989/1990 so 1986- 1990

wow I feel old

I'm 29 too...but I didn't start there until I was about 14 or 15 - I took about a million years of twirling before that! I'm old too!

I went to countless schools all over the island and even in Manhattan...June Claire being one of them! I took ballet from 2 1/2 - 18...I tried jazz for a year but I was too classical. I was in Robert christopher's "school" too - that ballet company they formed...and before that I was in Miss Denise's class. I also had a "solo" for the 5 or 6 years I was there - apparently that caused quite a stir since the "rules" were you had to take ballet, tap & jazz and be there for a few years b4 being considered for a solo...I was offered one at my first dress rehearsal there. LOL

I also danced with Seiskaya Ballet, and a couple of Madame's that I can't remember for the life of me. I took private lessons starting at 7...and was on point within that year

When I was younger I was in dancing school at a place in Brooklyn. I took ballet and tap dancing classes.
