Can this season just be over with already? Did the writers change this season? Its just awful!! So painful to watch, but I've watched since the show started so I feel like I need to see how it ends. But come on already! I'd rather they do flashbacks and review all the old funny episodes than the nonsense of this season.

DH and I say the same thing...just end this already. It's not even funny...this week's episode had potential. We've watched for so long so we feel we have to see it to the end.
From what I'm seeing we only have to stick it through till March. Here are the remaining episodes:
Unpause January 20, 2014
"How Your Mother Met Me" January 27, 2014 "Rally" February 3, 2014[202] "Sunrise" February 24, 2014[202] "Vesuvius" March 3, 2014 "Daisy" March 10, 2014[202] "Gary Blauman"[206] March 17, 2014[202]
"The End of the Aisle" March 24, 2014

"How Your Mother Met Me" January 27, 2014
They totally could have made an entire season just by the title of this episode....How Your Mother Met Me....I would love to have seen that! They could have showed her throughout the years and went back to things like the Yellow Umbrella etc!! I agree this weeks episode had potential, until they ended up in the forest in Shanghai?? WTF???

That would've been cute!! I haven't even been watching. I think I'll just jump in on the last episode and call it a day.

What is making me bonkers crazy is that the WHOLE season is about the wedding.
For the fall finaly, wasn't it like "28 hours to the wedding". I actually skipped the middle 6 or so episodes because it was TO ridiculous about Marshal TRYING to get to the wedding......And really? He had to walk 5 miles with the baby? He couldn't call a cab?
How much MORE can they POSSABLY drag out the wedding weekend?

I totally agree. I absolutely loved this show for the first several seasons. Then I got so tired of the whole Robin/Ted/Barney triangle, it was annoying. This season almost seems like the writers/actors are just doing what they think is amusing, not what a viewer would be interested in as a coherent season.
The only reason we haven't totally given up on it is that DH really likes comedies and we pretty much only have New Girl and The Goldbergs on tap these days.

Try Brooklyn 99 and Modern Family. They are both better than this season of HIMYM. Not gonna lie, I forced DH to watch last week's episode of The Mindy Project too and he thought it was funny.

I can't believe I forgot about Modern Family, yes we watch that too. I've been meaning to try Brooklyn 99, especially since it won so many awards.

Yeah I was a little eh at first, but the characters grew on me. I've been meaning to try The Goldbergs, too!

Monday's was just awful. DH is usually pretty tolerant of even the mediocre episodes, but even he agreed that it was just a boring space-filler. UGH! I've never wanted a show that I love so much to just end already!

Re: HIMYM
I watched them last night just because I had nothing else to watch. They were okay, maybe because I was prepared for the worst. I liked the episode where Marshall met the mother. I like that the first drink she bought Ted was the 35 year old scotch and it was because he knocked out that douchey guy with one punch. That was cute... and RELEVANT.
Monday's was nothing but filler, but I enjoyed Boyz II Men singing "You Just Got Slapped" while recounting all the slaps so far.

Just saw Monday's episode last night.
Its 23 min of my life I will NEVER get back.
Oh...the whole hitting the jukebox thing? That was a Fonzie move.
What TV show is known for "jumping the shark"? Happy Days.
I think the writers decided to have a link/homage to THIS season of HIMYM Jumping the Shark with this episode me thinks.......

This episode was so stupid. I was watching earlier seasons on netflix and it was 1000000x better then, now the show just isn't funny to me anymore.

So far that's been the best moment of the season! Just have Boyz to Men sing stupid songs for the rest of the episodes.
