Paul Walker Autopsy Results

Paul Walker's entire body was charred through the skin it was burned so badly ... this according to the autopsy ... burned so bad none of his organs were suitable for donation.

According to the report ... obtained by TMZ ... Walker's body was laying supine in the passenger seat in a "pugilistic stance" -- that's a defensive position, as if he were bracing himself for impact.

He had multiple fractures throughout his body, including his jaw, collarbone, and left upper arm. There were also various ribs and pelvic fractures.

The report concludes Walker died from "combined effects of traumatic and thermal injuries" sustained from the Nov. 30 crash in Santa Clarita, CA.

According to the report, the L.A. County Coroner is preserving portions of Paul's organs in a jar -- sources tell us tissues are kept for a certain period of time in case of lawsuits.

Roger Rodas -- the driver -- suffered major head trauma with the top portion of his skull fractured and his brain exposed.

No alcohol or drug traces were found in either body.

The report also says there was "scant soot in Walker's trachea" -- suggesting he took a few breaths after impact. Sources close to the investigation, however, tell TMZ, they believe both men died almost immediately.

And the report goes on ... Paul had 14% carbon monoxide saturation in his blood stream ... the normal level is 2%. Roger had 10%.

According to the report ... after impact the car spun 180 degrees, struck a tree and nearly tore in half before exploding in flames.

Wow. So tragic and sad. But why were they going over 100mph. This could have been an easily preventable tragedy.

I agree. It's terrible that this could've all been avoided. I loved him.

What is the significance of this? I feel like I must be missing something obvious.

I think that means he was breathing after the fire started. The fire/explosion would burn off most of the oxygen in the air, so he would be breathing more CO, instead of regular air, at least for a couple of breaths.

Ugh the "pugilistic stance" and the fact that he had 14% carbon monoxide in his lungs probably means he died painfully. So terrible and tragic!!!

This is what I'm NOT hearing. Everyone keeps going on and on about how sad it was (and it is) and yeah Paul wasn't the driver - but come the eff on.

Has this NOT been a celeb and a race car driver - people would be saying how effing irresponsible it was to go that fast and that they could have killed many, and that these two had no regard for anyone else on the road during their joy ride, acting like a hot shot. Innocent people were in that road that day - babies and children. I'm sorry they died, but what else do you expect? And I don't care how many charities you're involved with or how nice you are. It was selfish and I'm glad no one else was killed or injured.

I see young men drag racing all the time on the LIE. This is no different. Grow up and realize vehicles are supposed to be handled responsibly.

And to say he lost control of car for "unknown reasons" - I'll tell you the reason. It's for going 100+ mph.

I'm sure I'll get flamed. But I see this as no different than drinking and driving - putting yourself AND others at great risk.

Not flaming you...i agree with you 100%.... if they didnt die but hit some poor innocent person and killed them wed be reading a totally different story. I see drag racing on the belt as well and have called the cops becsuse they terrified nme...its tragic and no one deserves to die this way but...

I agree with you that they were definitely being irresponsible and thank god no one else was hurt/killed too. However I really don't think that anyone deserves to die so I still think it's a sad situation. And I would think the same if it were a celebrity or some random teenager racing on the LIE.

So is it when smokers die from lung cancer. Doesn't mean you don't hurt for them and their family. Or give you (general you) the right to get up on your soapbox. Just have to hope that a lesson was learned by all who hear his story.

Re: Paul Walker Autopsy Results

So sad. I just hope they were both unconscious by the time the car went into flames.

I was in a head on collision when I was younger and I remember the point of impact and then being woken up by firemen. My head only hit the airbag and was I was out for a while. Burned fingers from putting my hands up and the airbag force hitting them burned them a bit. My friend had a huge chunk of her head taken out by her door frame and she didn't feel any of it until she got the hospital. Shock sometimes numbs you for a bit.

With that, I feel like they (especially the driver with the severe head injury) were out cold by the time the flames came. At least I hope.

ITA. I feel awful for both families however it was totally preventable. Even more so because both the driver and Paul Walker were experienced racers. My husband is in the racing industry and races cars. One of the things we spoke about was how we couldn't believe any "professional" or knowledgeable racer would ever go that fast on a street. You take the car to a track where there are the proper safety precautions. Im willing to venture that neither of them were wearing fire suits, helmets or the car had a roll cage. A terrible, preventable tragedy.

Yes, that was my first thought.
1. he knew it was coming.
2. He was still alive after the impact and took a few more breaths while the car was in flames.
Uhhh makes my stomach turn. How awful. Chat Icon

PLEASE get up on a soap box and yell this from the rooftops until the law catches up with our values (we value the lives of those we love and don' think anyone's selflish choices should be permitted to endanger the lives of innocent people...BUT we don't do anything too terrible to drag racers/speeders.)

It is not only your RIGHT; it is your (and our) RESPONSIBILITY to be outraged that the dragracers on the LIE rarely get stopped, let alone prosecuted. ...Think about how much you love your loved ones...and your own life and all the things you do to stave off harm and be safe....And now imagine a practice that goes virtually unchecked in our society that arbitrarily takes lives the same exact way terrorism does. ...But we have no problem hating, going after, and denoucing terrorists...and making them pay. I don't get it.
You have EVERY RIGHT to be on a soapbox. We all should be joining you.
