Early Anatomy Scan/Gender Reveal
I am going in for an early anatomy scan on Dec. 20...I'll be 16w5d at the time of the scan. I wanted to do a gender reveal the following day with both sets of families since we won't see both sides of the family for Xmas.
Do you think I should hold off on having a gender reveal until my 20 week anatomy scan? I wasn't even expecting to have an early sono but when I went for my NT scan at 12w5d, my husband jokingly said it was a boy and the tech said, "It's a little early now but I'll give you a script to come in for an early anatomy scan in another 4 weeks and we'll be able to tell the gender then".
Thoughts??

Early Anatomy Scan/Gender Reveal
I was told 100% boy at my 16w sono with my OB and then I had a gender scan and it confirmed boy as well at 16w.

Re: Early Anatomy Scan/Gender Reveal
Thanks for the replies!
I'm thinking it would be easier to be sure it was a boy b/c if they see the boy parts, then they're there. But if they say girl, I feel like there's more of a chance that they can be wrong...

Early Anatomy Scan/Gender Reveal
I would wait. I had 2 tentative dates for a reveal. One for the weekend following the early anatomy scan and one for the weekend after the Level 2. I told our families both dates. We needed the 2nd date b/c DD did not cooperate for the early scan and kept her legs crossed the entire time.

Re: Early Anatomy Scan/Gender Reveal
I went to an elective sono place at 16 weeks and it was very clear that it was a boy. We knew before the sono tech even said it. We did our gender reveal a few days later.

Re: Early Anatomy Scan/Gender Reveal
Thank you for the replies. We were planning to find out at the reveal, along with our families, not at the sono. I think I may just make it a tentative date and ask the sono tech how certain she is. If baby doesn't cooperate or the tech isn't very confident, I will hold off until 20.
