I can definitely believe it. I'm not nearly as thin as she is, but I didn't have any "baby weight" leftover after giving birth. Also, she's got plenty of time on her hands to take care of herself, obviously much more so than most new moms.

I'm so grateful for my DS so I hate complaining, but I gained 55lbs while pregnant and i still have 25lbs to lose at 11wks pp. I don't believe my body will ever look the same. My stomach which used to be covered in bruises from the injections I used to keep myself pregnant is now all mottled and filled with purple lightening bolt stretch marks. If that's not bad enough, the skin literally hangs. Sure I wish my stomach didn't look so mottled and gross, but for now anyway it is what it is. I'm a public display of battle wounds I never thought I'd get to have.

Anyone who was able to escape the physical wear and tear of the 9 months and get back to your old self in no time, I seriously envy you!

Speaking of the duchess and her post-baby body

I am so jealous. I'm due in April and I have never had an easy time losing weight in life. I have one big challenge ahead of me, depressing.

How?

Money and time. She has no lack of help. She doesn't need time to prepare healthy meals, someone will do it for her. She can workout whenever she wants, I'm sure there is always someone to watch the baby. I'm sure it was much easier for her than most.

I lost most of the weight right away, and honestly,88 is enough time if you only gained actual baby weight.

if you only gained actual baby weight, all you need is delivery (and maybe a few days to lose the fluid)

this was me with both kids. I gained 15lb with my first and 8 with my second.

That's not true for everyone. I barely gained anything with my first son and I didn't "pop back". Everyone is different.

"A mark for every breath you took, every blink, every sleepy yawn. One for every time you sucked your thumb, waved hello, closed your eyes and slept in the most perfect darkness. One for every time you had the hiccups. One for every dream you dreamed within me. It isn't very pretty anymore. Some may even think it ugly. That's OK. It was your home. It's where I first grew to love you, where I lay my hand as I dreamed about who you were and who you would be. It held you until my arms could, and for that, I will always find something beautiful in it."

Re: Speaking of the duchess and her post-baby body

She looks fantastic! But, honestly, I think most of this is luck and genetics. I know personally I was always a fit person and throughout my pregnancy, ate healthy and EBF for a long time. You know what, the weight didn't come off until I stopped BF. My OB/GYN said that happens for some. Oh well, sucks for me... At the end of the day though, in hindsight, I could care less! I'd take my healthy perfect babies over a perfect bod any day! I think it's great for her and all those that posted on this thread that they had washboard stomachs walking out of the hospital but, honestly, what difference does it make at the end of the day?

I gotta say I believe it. She's naturally thin. When I left the hospital after having DS, my tummy was flat. My body is in no way as thin as hers, but I naturally have a tiny waist and don't gain any weight in my belly. My ass, on the other hand, is a completely different story!!

Same. I honestly was in my regular jeans in less than a week.. I feel like as soon as DD came out of me, my stomach was half way back to flat and by day 3 when I went home, it was pretty much back to normal. I remember right after giving birth I was being stitched up and DH walked by and said, "wow look at your stomach- look how much it went down!"
I carried very tiny. I am very tall so that made a difference too I think. It was pretty much all baby. I feel like Kate carried that way too and she was also tall and thin.
Now my stomach is nowhere near as tight as it was pre baby- I am not at all happy with the skin on it, etc- that has definitely changed.

Same for me too. It happens. My tummy was never as flat as Kate's, but as soon as I pushed my DD out, my tum went back to how it was before I was pregnant.

. My mom was the same as you ladies. Wore her regular pants home from the hospital and was back to her normal weight within 2 weeks. It is all genetics and body type.

This is beautiful!! My second child left me with a hernia that I'm not ready to fix, my body is so out of shape and will never be the same after having two kids 16 months apart. It's tough, I don't have time to work out, and my kids mean more to me then getting up at 4am to run maybe when they are older. Till then I will hold the sayin in the back of my mind.
