baby girl name Calissie
Hi everyone just found out that I am having a girl and I really like the name Kha lee see but I want to spell it Calissie
A few of my family friends said that it is really poor taste to name a baby after a tv show but I like it.... researched and it means gorgeous woman in old greek and names like calista and calistra are derived from this name as well what to do
I think it is different romantic and it stands out

I think if you're fine stating, "Yes, like Khaleesi from Game of Thrones" when you say her name, then go for it. It's your kid and you can name her whatever you want.
When I see Calissie, I personally would think it's meant to be said as: Ka-Lis-See.

Personally, I love the name. I think it's beautiful. So what if it's after a tv character? I'm named Laura after Luke & Laura from General Hospital

but as pp mentioned, you will have people that comment about it being from TV...as long as that wont bother you, go for it

Also, if you like it, that's all that matters! We stopped telling people our name choices because everyone has an opinion...annoying!

as a GOT fan, I read this and immediately thought of that pronunciation.
I think people who aren't familiar would pronounce it Ka-Lis-See

You're not naming after a TV show, but after a great book character!  But I haven't finished the book series yet, and I don't know the fate of her character, so I'd be concerned about naming her after a character that could become awful or meet a horrible doom! KWIM? But I think as just a name, the way you spelled it is great! I say go for it!

Caleesie is another way you could spell it. Honestly, as GoT grows in popularity, I'm sure people will become more familiar with the pronunciation.

Caliesee or Caleasie
