Yeah, I saw it.
Some of it I agree with, some of it I don't.
I do like Sinead but given that she's embarking on a US tour very very soon and the fact that she has repeatedly replied to Miley's disgusting responses, I call publicity stunt.

Miley Cyrus said in a Rolling Stone interview that her video for Wrecking Ball and look was inspired by Sinead O'Connor and her Nothing Comapres 2 U video.
If this chipmunk hillbilly went around saying she based anything that she did off of my work/look, I'd be addressing her publicly too.

This is very interesting to me, considering who wrote it. Sinead O'Connor knows what she's talking about. I am older than most people on this site. I was a fan of hers in the 80s, she was HUGE at her peak. She was also a stunning woman who was peaking in her career around the same time as Madonna. She did not want to play the game. She's talented and wanted her music to convey a message. The record company was not down with her messages or her politics.
I saw that episode of SNL. Again, she wanted to convey a message. Unfortunately for her, it literally killed her career. And maybe this is an oversimplification, but if she "played along" maybe she would have had a more successful career. In any event, I don't think this was for publicity. I think she is watching this trainwreck and wondering why no one is advising this young woman on how to navigate her success.

There's lots of truth in what she's saying, but Miley Cyrus is a young woman finding herself and exploring her sexuality. I think these are lessons she's going to have to learn herself. I don't hate on her for dressing provacatively or being a bad role model for kids (she is NOT Hannah Montana anymore as she keeps reminding us) but I do think she's gross. Really gross. And not as talented as everyone makes her out to be. And did I mention gross?
ETA: I thought she wrote this letter to Miley because Miley mentioned her as an inspiration.
ETAA: But, I do agree that one day Miley is going to look back at this stuff and regret it or be embarassed by it.

The pope is not infallible. He's a man.
Does anyone know why she did this though? It was in protest to the child abuse going on in the catholic church. This was back in the early 90s when no one was talking about it.
And two decades later, look at what has come out.

I hope she does regret it, but I think she is narcissistic and outlets keep feeding her (ex. Maxim, MTV movement, Twitter, Rolling Stones, and soon enough SNL). She is a mess.
