Link to morning sickness and gender....

I read somewhere that if you have morning sickness the entire first trimester you are likely having a girl (old wives tale)...

For my first this was true...I am now PG with DC#2 and have had morning sickness since 6 weeks (I am almost 8 weeks now)...

Curious..those who are having boys....did you have morning sickness in 1st trimester?

I had bad MS with DC1 and it was a girl. But my MIL had it awful--was even hospitalized--and she had 3 boys so I'm not sure how sound the girl theory is.

I had no morning sickness at all with my DD.
This time I've been super nauseaous/car sick every day and I'm 13 weeks. Not sure what I'm having yet, but I think that every pregnancy is different and MS really can't predict gender. My cousins were super sick their entire pregnancies and had boys. Who knows.

I agree. I think it is hereditary. My mom was fine and she had three girls, my one sister had two girls, and my other sister had one girl and all are fine.

I am 29 weeks and have felt great all the way through...probably another Chat Icon

With dd I felt great the whole time (aside from being tired). This time I feel awful but haven't actually thrown up. Not sure what we're having yet.

Re: Link to morning sickness and gender....

since I'm teamChat Icon we'll have to see if I fall in line with the wives tale (little to no MS for me) but my two friends had the opposite of what the tale says:

one had horrible morning sickness allll pregnancy and had a boy and the other had no morning sickness and a girl. luck of the draw I suppose.

Re: Link to morning sickness and gender....

I never threw up.

I became very nauseas a few times - maybe three total?? But nothing bad at all, I was quite lucky. I had zero appetite -- I wouldn't put that under the category of morning sickness, I just felt no attraction to food. That has lasted pretty much ninth months now! Ugh! I miss loving food :(

But yeah I would say I barely had any issues with morning sickness - feeling nauseas a few times is nothing!

I'm having a boy Monday.
