Breast feeding moms question
Dd is 11.5 months. For the past week when she nurses she is switching sides like every 10-20 seconds. It is annoying to keep lifting her back and forth and back and forth and I wonder if she is getting the right balance if milk.
The only time she doesn't do this is in the middle of the night when she's half asleep. Is this normal bc she is getting older and distracted?

Breast feeding moms question
Definitely sounds like she could be getting distracted. I battled that with DD from probably 5 months on. I pretty much had to make sure we were home with no one else around, the tv off, and in our normal spot on the couch. Even trying to nurse in her room she would get distracted and want to look around. Try to keep things quiet and dark so she can stay focused. How many feedings a day does she do? Maybe she's ready to drop one and isn't that hungry which could add to the fidgeting.

She's been doing this for her night time feeding when I nurse her to bed. She used to pass out on my boob and now she doesn't so I put her down awake. And also first thing in the morning. She is busy pointing at the ceiling fan!
I nurse on demand when I am with her. And when she's at daycare she only gets two 4oz bottles bc that is all I'm making pumping. But she eats 3 meals in addition to the bottles.

She's distracted. DS does this (but on one boob). Sip, pop off, look at his sister, sip, pop off, look at the light fixture, sip, pop off, look out the window, sip, pop off, ooh a toy!
Try nursing her in a quiet dark room if possible.

I agree with the PPs. The only other thing I can think of is if she's doing it to get a better letdown. My DD would do that around 15 months and go back and forth every 2 minutes, but it was b/c at that point, I didn't have much of a let down anymore and she knew switching would create more milk.

Oh that is a good idea, I didn't think of that. It makes me nervous that I am only pumping like 6-8oz a day now when she's at daycare. Sometimes I have to add an extra session in the night or early am. So annoying I used to make 20oz a day.

Wow, I just started going through this at four months and have been getting nervous I will have to stop bfing. I guess no more TV for me when ds eats.

It stunk but she's 15 months and still nurses.
