For a party to start I think it is too late for kids. I personally would prefer 6 pm or 6:30 at the latest.

Re: Kids birthday party Friday evening....too late?
as a working Mom I would LOVE this as I wouldn't have to leave work early to go.
I would bring my kids. Albeit a little late for my 16mos old, but fine for my 4.5 year old...So 6 years old this works.

Kids birthday party Friday evening....too late?
My DS is typically asleep between 8:15-8:30, we start the bath routine around 7:30. But, if we have something special to do, like a party, I am all for letting him stay up late once in awhile. If it were my friend having a party at that time, I would take him.

Re: Kids birthday party Friday evening....too late?
I wouldn't attend, WAY too late for my kids. We start our bedtime routines at 7 and they are in bed asleep at 8. Not a fan of nighttime kid parties at all. Both my kids as well as DH and I are winding down by 7 at night, the last place I'd want to be at that time is a kid party. Sorry.
ETA - I know not everyone is, but I'm a total stickler for our nighttime routines and bedtimes. The only time we deviate is for Xmas Eve. Even our family get togethers tend to be during the day which works out good for us.

Re: Kids birthday party Friday evening....too late?
I'd take 6:30. Just sounds a little better. My boys are in bed early, but if we have something then I make an exception. Especially when it's on a weekend and no school or work the next day. My youngest is usually in bed at 7. At least with 6:30 my boys wouldn't be falling asleep on the way over like they would possibly at 7.

Kids birthday party Friday evening....too late?
i wouldn't mind that time on a Sat but I don't even get home from work until 630 so I would have to leave early (which I'm not liekly to do for a Bday part).
I have no issues with changing DS routine for a party though.

Re: Kids birthday party Friday evening....too late?
For my crew, that's way too late for a Friday night. Saturday night at that hour, definitely can make it work, but by Friday they are exhausted from the week.

ITA!
Works for my kids who sleep at 10pm.
As a FTWM.... It works & doesn't disrupt the weekend!

Same for me. The latest we'd probably attend is 6pm & that would depend on how much of a drive it is.

Re: Kids birthday party Friday evening....too late?
DS is that age...I would prefer 6:30 but, would absolutely still go at 7 - but, we would never miss an event for the bedtime schedule...
