Raven-Symone Comes Out: Actress Thanks Government Now That She Can Get Married
Raven-Symone appears to have put long-held rumors about her sexual orientation to rest when she tweeted that she can "finally get married" and thanked the government for it.
"I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you"
Of course, it's a safe assumption that the 27-year-old actress is referring to the Supreme Court's decision to overturn The Defense of Marriage Act back in June, which will allow same same-sex marriages to be recognized by the Federal government.
In the past, Symone has been much more private about her personal life. The last time the Internet lit up with rumors that she was gay was when she tweeted:
"My sexual orientation is mine, and the person I'm datings to know. I'm not one for a public display of my life,"
The Huffington Post reached to a representative for Raven-Symonè, who declined to comment on the tweet.

i like her, i just find it's silly to remain ambiguous after saying such a statement about "yay! i can finally get married!" and then be all "listen, it's MY personal business," KWIM?
like if you're going to stay private about your sexuality for whatever reason, do it. do it like andersen cooper did until he wasn't private.
I'm not gay, and my opinion may be worth nada, but i think the greatest thing to do for the gay youth is to proclaim you're gay and be done with it, not make it some big battle for privacy and staying mum.

Her post about her sexual orientation being private was awhile ago. It came before she said she was happy she could finally get married, that was just this week.
